Lighting Issue?

I am using ELFX, and before anyone suggests, yes I've used loot, wrye bash, tes5edit and many other things for the stability of skyrim. Is this a known issue? I can't seem to find out what is the culprit and why there are beams of orange light coming from my fires in what seems to be only Whiterun. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=763946970

That must be some sort of mod conflict. I can't figure out what else would cause this.

Are you using Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) or Mod Organizer (MO)?

Your let hand panel is not correctly sorted. Left panel manages resource priorities for mod resource files. These files are mostly related to scripts, meshes and textures. Remember that MO treats all resource files as loose files.

Like in the load order, file having the highest priority wins the conflict against conflicting file having lower priority than it has. Right now several of your mods are in wrong positions and not winning conflict they should.

Some of the conflicts are outright dangerous ones. For example XPMSE must have the highest priority of all full mods in your game. Only tool output data from Overwrite folder should be loaded after it.

Sort the left panel to match with your LOOT sorted right panel. Pay attention to Real Shelter files in your right panel. LOOT does not yet sort them out and they will contribute to instability of your game. I have added positions for them in to load order template included to following post.

Following post also explains how to use tool output data from Overwrite folder. It does not look like you are managing it. Overwrite should always be clean from all content.

Additionally I also noticed that you have BodySlide content in your game, but not BodySlide itself? Using BodySlide is very much recommended. It works for both CBBE and UUNP. You will have to select which body type you are using.

There is a horde of body presets for both body types. I will drop the link below how to use BodySlide with Mod Organizer.

I did notice one more thing. This is - like Real Shelter problem - unrelated to your current problem, but it is something you wish to pay attention to.

I copied your content to Notepad++, because page search function of Steam does not seem to work right now. I am not sure if that is due to recent Win10 update, or what.

Anyway, you are using Skyrim Distance Overhaul. I strongly advice against using old distance LOD overhauls. It does not matter how well they were made, they are still a problem.

I strongly recommend moving to DynDOLOD. It may look a bit taunting at first, but it is not. Gamer Poet tutorial video covers and explains the process well for Mod Organizer.

I've almost completed sorting my left pane load order according to the Loot order minus the recommended priorities given to certain mods (eg. Realshelter) but I'm not getting what to do with these overwrites at the bottom of my left pane. I have safetyload, bash patch and some others.

Also watched the Install of DynDOLOD and it's not too bad, but I don't think at this juncture I wish to install it yet. I'll just uninstall the outdated SDO and wait until I feel like messing with DynDOLOD.

I also installed Bodyslide and crafted a unp body, but now I have an ESP that I don't know where it goes (and I don't want to do LOOT again and undo all my hard work) and then the Bodyslide system as well in my left pane. Does this load after HTD Physics?

LOOT should not mess up your hard work. Current version rarely moves mods that you have already set, unless it really has to. For example, I am just running a test for a MO profile that was split from my gameplay profile. I had sorted my left panel for new mods. Adding few new ESP files did not change the order at all, but merely placed those new files where they were supposed to be.

Old LOOT had the ability to redo the whole damn load order with one go. That was annoying with MO. Last two or three releases just place files according to records. This means that LOOT does not really change the load order, unless files you add there actually require very relevant changes to it.

Which ESP file is in question?

About safety load, that is merged to SKSE memory tweak. You may wish to use that instead. If you include the option to clear invalid entries. Tweak will clear obsolete entries over time, when you encounter them in game. Of course this does not make removing any scripted mods any safer, but does make updating mods a bit safer.

I would recommend making a new output folder for each of them. Otherwise any tool you run may mess up your game.

I gave example how to do that in my Load order and resource priority post. My own (profile specific) folders are currently following.

• Default Output DynDOLOD TexGen > DynDOLOD TexGen data.
  
• Default Output DynDOLOD -> For DynDOLOD output.
  
• Default Output BodySlide -> Includes BodySlide meshes and zap data.
  
• Default Output Bashed Patch -> For Wrye Bash data and ESP
  
• Default Output DSR -> For Dual Sheath Redux files and ESp.
  
• Default Output FNIS -> For Fores New Idles data.
  
• Default Output SKSE -> For data that SKSE plugins toss to Overwrite. Made after game initialization and creating settings from MCM.

"Default" is the name of this profile. I use this method for each of my MO profiles. It is easier to find folders from Mod Organizer mods folder, when they are grouped.

For example my Eryen profile looks like this. Not all profiles require separate folders for DynDOLOD and BodySlide. However, this character has custom houses world objects that require DynDOLOD. Character is also a female and uses more varied wardrobe, so BodySlide data was remade for this character.

The process is actually not that complex as it seems. I have all my folder premade in Mod Organizer mods and orderd in MO as active. When I run the tool (to clear Overwrite), I can just open Overwrite, select all files and drag them directly to empty folder in MO.

For example: I run Wrye Bash to create a Bashed Patch. Once done, I double click the Overwrite folder in MO to open it. Then I select all files and drag them above empty Default Output Bashed Patch mod folder in MO and drop them in. Done. :)

So let me get this straight, I'm going into Modorganizer/mods and making some folders for these various files that i'm going to get, Then when MO presents it I just drag it into the grayed option in the left pane and activate it?

Yep. That is the easies way.

You can also just run the tool to cleared Overwrite. Then right click the Overwrite and select option to add it as a mod. Give it a name and set it active in MO. This will create the folder, as you would have added it directly to Mod Organizer mods.

Both methods are just fine. Which ever works you best.

I am somewhat confused because according to your load order advice, the SMIM should go after my ESPs and such, and it should have textures that are before it and ones that I want to overwrite it, for instance ELFX, but when I LOOT, it throws all those SMIM textures from before it and after it into some crazy order that wasn't what I wanted. Like for instance, I wanted Verdant to come after SMIM, but after loot, it threw it above it. So what do I listen to in regards to my left pane? Should I copy the load order by loot on the right into my left pane, or keep it the way I wanted it? Should I rearrange the load order on the right to match with what I want on the left?

The left panel manages resources for textures and meshes. Not the right one. I have placed SMIM down, because it may need to win conflicts against several mods with ESP files.

Let the right panel stay at it is. Then group files above and after SMIM as they need to be, according to instructions in SMIM page and pages providing still unlisted patches for it.

For example, my left panel order around SMIM is:

• Resource - Mindfulx Particles (Resource, because ESP file is disabled. MO manages the archive for me.
