Modded Skyrim keeps crashing during combat UPDATED
So I've finally gotten back to Skyrim (again) after a long hiatus due to frustrations regarding modding. As such I made sure that I did all the steps before starting my new game; I loaded all the mods that I wanted for a specific character (I use mod organizer); I ran loot to clear out mod load orders, I cleaned all the mods that needed to be cleaned, I made bashed patches, the works.

So far in two of my try-outs (in my first I tried using mouse and keyboard, but it just felt awkward so I had to restart with specific combat mods removed in order to use a controller since there aren't enough buttons for Dual Wield Parry), every time I'm in combat with some bandits just outside Riverwood; the game keeps crashing to my desktop at this very specific area, on a bit of elevated ground at the curve in the road just before Riverwood. This even happend when running to Riverwood with Hadvar.

I love Skyrim, but going back to playing it without mods just feels unthinkable, and I'd really like to have at least ONE playthrough without problems. Could someone please help me?

Can you post your MO left pane order? You can find it under Mod Organizer\profiles\*profile name*\modlist.txt.

Also, do you have the SKSE.ini configured? If not, or if you're unsure, follow this guide: http://steamcommunity.com/app/72850/discussions/0/540740500921363665/

I thought it was the right pane that determined the mod order, but okay. Also I reinstalled SKSE, but I couldn't do it via steam for some reason, so I'm not sure that did anything.

Also sometimes rather than crashing back to the desktop it just freezes and I have to sign out of my PC.

UPDATE: Now rather than crashing it freezes every time I start blacksmithing.

The left pane is just as important as the right, as it determines resource priority (installation order in other managers). It should pretty much match your right pane.

I've called in some people who will be better able to help than myself, so don't worry, we'll get this fixed.

Falro the Great linked your post to our thread. I noticed that your left panel in MO is not sorted correctly.

Left panel manages resource priorities. While standard system loads BSA and ESP at the same time, MO both allows and forces us to sort them manually.

See more from this thread. It also shows how to manage your tool output data from Overwrite folder.

Just a quick question: What do I do since Skyrim.esp and Update.esp don't appear on the left-hand panel?

I'll toss in my own $0.02 on this, too...what version of Climates are you using? With CoT 5, the main .esp is for legendary Edition, which you clearly have. The Dawnguard and Dragonborn .esps for Climates are no longer needed.

As for the second penny, doesn't wet and cold ashes require the main wet and cold esp?

Edit: nevermind on wet and cold, I see the main .esp now. Too used to how my load order puts them right next to each other lol.

Ignore that. They are automatically loaded first, since nothing else in the game can run without them.

Better get to organizing then.

Well you see, the patches aren't needed as they're included in the v.5.0 package/ You still need to enable them.

Ooh, it's in the installer, not a combined .esp? Oops, better doublecheck my own load order... :P

UPDATE: Started working when I put .esm:s to the top (except one patch as instructed), but when I went to sleep and the Sands of Time Sleep Encounters made me get attacked in my tent the game CTDed. I figured SoT was not in a good spot, so I put it higher in the load order, but now it CTD:s before the game can load a save.

Repost your modlist.txt and your load order again so we can have another look.
