ATAR Quest Bug
This post is in response to @RPG Gamer Man's OP {link: http://steamcommunity.com/app/72850/discussions/0/133261124639266471/ } regarding problems with the Atar Quest Bug in particular. RG Gamer Man is attempting to remove this quest from his Journal since the quest has been completed. However the game is keeping it in his Journal, not recognizing this.

This Quest Assist is extracted from my “Console Commands GUIDE for Dummies - SKYRIM” {link = http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=680170618 . My guide has been created for personal use while playing The Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim. It is targeted to the novice Console user, so many commands include detailed explanations of use and basic terminology. My sincere thanks are due to my good Friend oLadyGamer for encouraging me to finally get it together and "publish" this guide for my Friends' use.

WARNING: Use console commands with caution! It is easily possible to mess up your game if you modify settings at the console. Even if short term the game functions normally, you may later discover that you have made it impossible to complete a quest and therefore you cannot proceed normally with game play. Then fixing that problem can then make new glitches pop up elsewhere. Create a permanent saved game before experimenting with the console. If you need to use the console to fix a glitch, try to use the least powerful command possible.

If you have not already done so, using the UESP/wiki page for a particular quest for stage and target details can be a tremendous help in solving glitched quest problems. But upward and onward !!
Now, the Section on QUEST Commands Skyrim:Quests. See the UESPWiki; http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Quests. Quests are sorted by where they are assigned or by which faction assigns them. Skyrim also offers hundreds of smaller quests, all of which are listed under Miscellaneous Quests; http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Miscellaneous. In this section, QstID is used to indicate a Quest's hexadecimal identification code.

To ensure you have the QuestID right, it may help to get the full list of your quests at this time using ...
SQ __ ShowQuests : Shows all Quests. Lists ALL quests in the game,
not just the one you're on, along with the current Stages.
See whether the Karthwasten quest is there. If so, that gives you the proper ID.

Sometimes, it is not clear which quest a given QuestID refers to due to obscure coding. Try using ...
SQO __ ShowQuestObjectives : Itemizes Quest Objectives and their states.
Shows "human friendly" list of active & completed Quest Objectives for all currently active quests. If this shows your problem quest is complete, then you're {?} done :steamhappy:.

Once you have nailed down that QuestID, use ...
SQO <QstID> __ ShowQuestObjectives : Shows Objectives List for the specified Quest.

Also, the next command will give you all that quest's “Stages” ...
SQS <QstID> __ ShowQuestStages : Displays all the stages of specified quest

If there are specific “Targets”, this command will show you what they are ...
SQT __ ShowQuestTargets : Shows the current {active} Quests and their Targets with the Quest IDs and Stage IDs.

This next command will show exactly at which Stage that quest is “stuck” ...
GetStage <QstID> Shows current Stage of specified Quest.
This shows gamer the identity of the current quest stage. A value of 10 generally indicates a quest has been accepted. Other than that, stage values are quite quest dependent.

You already are familiar with the use of this next command to step through a quest ...
SetStage <QstID> <Stage> Sets the current Stage of specified Quest <questID>.

Quest stages can be found on each individual quest page. First, select the quest you want to change in PC's journal. Use the SQT command to see Quest IDs. Then use the GETSTAGE command to see the current stage for a specified Quest. Usually you add or subtract 10 to step one stage, but there are exceptions. Review the UESP/wiki page for a particular quest for stage and target details.

Another command that would be useful is ...

SetOBJECTIVEcompleted <QstID> <Stage> <1 | 0>

This sets specified Quest Stage as being Complete {1} or Uncomplete {0}: <1 = Set; 0 = Unset>

If all else fails, perhaps you could try ...

StartQuest / StopQuest <QuestID>

To Begin or End a <QuestID> specified Quest.

Then why not post it there? More likely that they'll see it.

According to the UESP page, the quest id is:

FreeformKarthwastenA

there are 4 official quest numbers, they are:

20
Objective 10: Convince Atar to leave Sauranach Mine
25
Objective 30: Tell Ainethach that Atar has been dealt with
30
Objective 10 or 20: Convince Atar to leave Sauranach Mine or Convince Ainethach to sell Saunaruch Mine
35
Objective 40: Tell Atar that Ainethach has been dealt with

This information is from the UESP page about this particular quest:

Having figured this out, i will try some of the other techniques listed above and will test now. A post will be posted to tell if those steps fixed it.

Only thing i can figure is that is not the correct quest id for this quest..i use the unofficial USLEEP patch...so this might of changed the name. It is possible that is why the command is not working to show the quest or end it.

We found the correct Quest ID number is 000622e8. This was changed due to USLEEP.

RESETquest FreeformKarthwastenA worked!
