I suggest you to try out the unstable steam branch since it has a lot of improvements (riught click on CGS, select Betas then unstable).
Starting in year 1982, the video game crash ruins most of the existing consoles but PCs and OSes. So you'd better go with a PC or OS console instead of a Handled/Home console.
When you start a new game be sure to click the little heart in the section that shows progress on your project. Even just doing the free one .. talk to the press.. will change the amount of fans for even the crappiest game.
