What is even the point of replicators and admin chambers? Why would I spend way more to duplicate a resource at a lower rate if I Can just build the original building and produce more for less?

The Replicator's production rate is based on total of all adjacent builds (i.e. even a level 1 Replicator surrounded by 8 Metal Mines will produce 160% the metal of a single Metal Mine). The Admin Chamber affects global production. If you're not seeing any meaningful gain from either building, you're using it wrong.
