Unsure of how candy mechanics work.

Sometimes, I could be in a star system, clear all the zones, farm in endless for a while, and still be stuck at the base 40/50/60/70 candy reward if I jump, requiring hundreds of trillions for the next candy. (In this galaxy, my fourth star system I left with 40 candy)

Other times, I could be gaining something like 30 candy/sec, overring over 250k if I jump, only requireing a couple hundred million for one candy. (in that same galaxy, my fifth star system I left with 500,000 candy)

What causes the change?

If I'm reading that thread right, it basically goes "Get that massive amount of exp for your first bonus candy, then the cost drops by like 99%"?

I'm on system 7 now, and it required something like 400T to get from 70 candy to 71. Now, I'm gaining more than 30 severy second, requiring only 300m or so per candy.

Yes, this is correct: the candy gain system goes progressively forward (you need to overcome the previous total exp gained);

However, if you jump to the next galaxy, the counter resets back to 500 exp for the first candy.

Since you are on system 7 - the galaxy jump button (orange) is available, right?

That explains a lot. I was wondering if there was some research I was absentmindedly clicking, or perhaps a bug. Good to see it's as simple as that.

And yes, the galaxy jump button is available. I'm currently on my second galaxy.

Don't worry, it might seem like a lot - but this number is getting progressively easy to gain depending on the amounts of candy you are getting (since exp gain is boosted by candy too).
