No dialogue sound
Music is fine, sound effects good, but cannot hear any dialogue. Is there a setting I can fix? Running windows 10 on a PC with NVIDIA 1070. Logitech surround sound.

Maybe u should use the intigrated soundcard of your pc. My external Soundcard doesnt work with this game too. (windows 10)

(On Windows 11) it works also with the external soundcard

EDIT: The following steps may or may not work for you. The real problem on my computer was that my sound card drivers were set to 5.1 mode when I only have stereo speakers. This meant that the dialogue that would play through the center channel simply didn't play.

----------

I fixed this using DxWrapper: https://github.com/elishacloud/dxwrapper/releases
  1. Navigate there, download the latest dxwrapper.zip.
  2. Copy dxwrapper.dll and dxwrapper.ini from the zip file into the game directory.
  3. From the Stub directory in the zip, copy dsound.dll into the game directory.
  4. Open the dxwrapper.ini file that you copied into the game directory in a text editor, like Notepad.
  5. Under the [Compatibility] section, locate the line EnableDsoundWrapper       = 0 and change the zero to a one so that it looks like EnableDsoundWrapper       = 1.
  6. Under the [dsound] section, locate the line ForceNonStaticBuffers     = 0 and change the zero to a one so that it looks like ForceNonStaticBuffers     = 1.
  7. Under the [dsound] section, locate the line ForceVoiceManagement      = 0 and change the zero to a one so that it looks like ForceVoiceManagement      = 1.
  8. Save and close the file.
Launch the game, and the audio is hopefully fixed for you.
