(On Windows 11) it works also with the external soundcard
----------
I fixed this using DxWrapper: https://github.com/elishacloud/dxwrapper/releases
- Navigate there, download the latest dxwrapper.zip.
- Copy dxwrapper.dll and dxwrapper.ini from the zip file into the game directory.
- From the Stub directory in the zip, copy dsound.dll into the game directory.
- Open the dxwrapper.ini file that you copied into the game directory in a text editor, like Notepad.
- Under the [Compatibility] section, locate the line EnableDsoundWrapper = 0 and change the zero to a one so that it looks like EnableDsoundWrapper = 1.
- Under the [dsound] section, locate the line ForceNonStaticBuffers = 0 and change the zero to a one so that it looks like ForceNonStaticBuffers = 1.
- Under the [dsound] section, locate the line ForceVoiceManagement = 0 and change the zero to a one so that it looks like ForceVoiceManagement = 1.
- Save and close the file.
Launch the game, and the audio is hopefully fixed for you.
