I use a Logitech Rumblepad controller and it works just fine. I have also used a Thrustmaster Wingman Force GP wheel and pedals which also worked ok. Gamepad or keyboard is the way to go though. With a wheel you can't change directions quick enough. You can set up your controller by going into "Profile" and then "Inputs." There you can assign the various controls to whatever buttons you wish. Hope that helps.

Wired 360 controller works fine here.

I remember playing it with a 360 controller and having it working fine.

I tried profile/inputs and to change the keys, but there is no option to use a controller or bind keys to my controller. Trying not to use joy2key. Help please.

Other than joy2key or a similar program, i really dont see any other option. http://www.xpadder.com/ is the joystick to keyboard/mouse program that i use. Highly recommended.

Thank you for the advise. I will look into xpadder.

I have been playing this game for years with games pads. Either Logitech dual shock PS style or wired XBox style. Both are plug and play; no 3rd party programs are required. I think youre doing something wrong...

360 controller all day. Don't need to download any apps or drivers if you use Vista and up.

You use the arrows to pick a function, you press Enter, then you press the controller button you want to bind to that function.

I got my going, it's PS2 style controller, works fine, only one is D-pad doesn't work in game. But with Xpadder my Gamepad works everywhere and at full power XD.

I prefer controlling racers too, I know how you feel. I use a Classic PS2 Controller like you, Thank god its not one of those cheap game stop knockoffs XD
