Account conversion from TMNF to TMUF

Will the game update if I convert my TMNF account using retail key (http://i.imgur.com/TSvVutM.jpg )? I have a retail key from gamersgate which does not work via Games->Activate product. If the game won't update - what is the point in such conversion?

EDIT: http://i.imgur.com/472VywJ.jpg - here is the result of conversion. Nothing changed except account type. No game updates etc, just this.

Same thing happened to me. It didn't update the game or anything, just updated the account type, and it still nags me to upgrade everytime I quit.
