Why are my graphics so bad?

I have all my settings maxed out, yet this is how it looks in-game

This clearly isnt normal... what is causing this ? How can I fix my graphics ?

Normal for Steam version.
Theres a fix/ workaround I am now looking up myself and how to do it properly since Im having issues applying it.
edit: I say steam version but its the only one available. As opposed to the free version you could download back when.

May we know the specs of the system you're using?

Have you also tried running the game in Compatibility Mode[support.ubisoft.com] to see if there are any changes?

Dude, like I said, its STEAMS VERSION thats fuzzy by default and no modifying apparently fixes that. You have to download Trackmania itself from their site and not Steams.
I said "LMAO" because this Ubisoft person wants to help you with super generic questions that will lead nowhere due to this issue being widely monitored and known already.

So, painfully go through the process of 'troubleshooting' with Ubisoft as they will just refer you elsewhere, or, listen to me (edit: who just went through this to fix it and is currently running it just fine 1440p 170hz 10 core 3070 blah blah)

Maybe you already have; just figured otherwise since you replied to the UbiBot (yes I know they're a real human being lol)

Hello, i suffer from low res textures in the game. It is realy pain now cuz i have tried everything i have found around here. Nothing helped... Does anyone have something better in 2021 instead of threads from 2010?

if it isnt worked. when i have no idea. but i have a method which is using run.bat and clicking update. which will update the game.

also a quick reminder. go to your games directory. and click on nadeo ini. there is a line called Distro. chane whatever something called TAHOR to MILIN. after that. when you should able to play. as you dont recieve distro errors.

I've merged your threads here as they appear to relate to the same topic, both with different suggestions on them, to allow you to help eachother further.

Something I've also been able to dig up is a patch release on the game's original Forms[www.tm-forum.com] that some players have said has helped them when they've experienced similar it seems some editions are missing this patch.

Could you please try installing the patch (the Forums has linked for the Steam version too) and let us know if there are any changes at all?

Thanks for the forum link, but the link for the TMUF fix files for Steam results in a 404 not found. The regular executables cannot find the Steam installation of TMUF.

From research, this had been an issue since at least 2016 with GPU's that had more than 2GB of VRAM. Why has this issue not been patched directly into the Steam version when there was already a fix for it?

With today's PC's, even entry level GPU's have more than 2GB of VRAM. This means that almost every gaming PC built in the last several years cannot run this game correctly.

If you get the message: Unable to determine TMUnitedForever currently installed, try to uninstall and install it on your C:\ drive, or if it is on the C:\ drive, re-install.

Then change the distro name to : MILIN in the settings.ini

Now you should be able to run the patch and fix the graphics blur problem.
