Report a translation problem
For the games I play it is definitely good enough to run them smoothly :) And as I said, this problem is new. I play on this PC for more than a year now and also played TMU without any problems. Now I started again after some months and this freezing happens :/
I believe it is most likely caused by a GPU or Windows update as you suggest, however there are always steps we can try.
One very important troubleshooting step that is often overlooked is disabling background applications. If by doing that the game works fine, it suggests another software was previously running & conflicting with your game.

I have the exact same problem, but it also happens on TM2020, TMNF and for some odd reason Photoshop. Whats even weirder is the fact that these issues were nowhere to be found until I put an SSD in my PC. Moving those applications out of the SSD doesnt help either. Is there anything these three programs share in terms of maybe graphics rendering or something? I dont know im just lost on wtf to do.

May we please know the specs of the PC you're using (GPU, CPU, RAM, OS, Laptop / Desktop)?
And have you attempted any troubleshooting such as the steps in our guide here[ubi.li], or performing a System File Check[ubi.li], as you're noting this happening across multiple applications?
