Crash on Launch / Can't Connect to Server

WHITE/BLACK SCREEN CRASH ON LAUNCH

(see below post for connection issues)

If you have trouble launching either game, such as you experience a white screen crash or black screen crash or the game's splash screen closes, please follow these next steps to resolve this issue >

1. First locate this folder on your computer >
C:\Program Files\(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\TrackMania Nations Forever\Nadeo.ini (default installation folder)

2. Now you have found the Nadeo.ini file, open this file in a text editor program such as notepad and change the Change the Distro=MOLUX section to read to Distro=MILIN instead. Save the file.

3. Download the following .exe file patch > http://files2.trackmaniaforever.com/TmUnitedForever_Update_2010-03-15_Setup.exe

4. Click on this .exe file and download it to the following location >
C:\Program Files\(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\TrackMania Nations Forever

5. Try launching the game again, it should now launch without any issue.

Alternatively, if you would prefer to launch the game without Steam. Please first uninstall the Steam version, then download the non-steam version of the game here >

CONNECTION ERROR'S / CAN'T CONNECT TO SERVER / UPGRADING FROM TMNF TO TMUF

If you are trying to do the following >>

- Log in to TMUF/TMNF
- Create a new account
- Trying to register a product key
- Convert your TMNF account into a TMUF account after purchasing the full game

You may have to enable some TLS internet security settings in your Windows settings first, as you may see one of the following error messages >

To resolve this issue please navigate to >>
Windows Settings > type Internet Options > select the Advanced tab > scroll down to Security > enable all 'Use TLS' options such as TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 (apart from the ones marked experimental TLS numbers)

Please also uncheck the option 'Check for server certificate revocation'

After registering your key and logging into the game, please select your internet Options again and select reset, to return your Internet Options back to default.
