Ok how do I find good servers?

I've searched for a few with my friend but most were just nations servers with the stadium only. They also had trash maps and there even was one with ugly textures all over the place. Also please let me know what United has to offer over tm2 titles besides more environments when it comes to multiplayer.

With United, you can play on every server (not just FreeZone), FreeZone servers won't force you to spectate 1 match, you can have custom cars/horns that everyone can see and you can earn in-game currency.

As for good servers, since you have United, maybe try to play non-FreeZone servers.

While most servers are for stadium, there are quite a few United ones, albeit with fewer players. I just checked and found an Island server with 6 players. While looking for a game, it may help to click the option "Only United Servers."

I just noticed how few players this game has. I think I should've gone for Trackmania 2

I checked and found that roughly 600 people are playing United/Nations right now. For a 10-year-old game, that's honestly not too shabby. Fullspeed servers in particular (which is the type of server I typically play) often have 30-40 people in them. I’m not sure how you feel about the stadium environment, but it is the most popular, and there is a wide variety of game modes offered. In my experience, most of the TrackMania 2 games are far more empty, because Nadeo/Ubisoft made the decision to split all of the environments into separate games. I have been playing TrackMania games since TM Sunrise came out in 2005, and in my opinion, United is the game that’s going to give you the best bang for your buck.


I own all of the TrackMania games on Steam, except Turbo. If multiplayer is your primary focus, I’ve counted the players in each one to give you a pretty good idea of how active each playerbase is.


TrackMania2 Stadium: over 900 players at the time of writing this, including one server that has over 200 people racing in it

TrackMania2 Canyon: roughly 50 people playing right now, most populated server currently has 28 people playing

TrackMania2 Valley: currently there are 12 people playing, with the most populated server hosting 10 of those

TrackMania2 Lagoon: There are currently 0 people playing, which is a shame because Lagoon is pretty awesome.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes, the fact that Stadium is the most popular one bothers me because I want to also play on the Island. Not necessarily other environments but they are a nice change of pace usually.

Exactly, I only recently started seeking out Island servers because I had forgotten how fun that environment was. I may start playing some more TM2 Stadium as well, because those 200 player races are insane.
