Analog Steering help

Im having issues getting analog steering to work. Im using and xbox 360 controller. In the input settings it says that analog steering is mapped to X Axis (Pad 1). But it doesnt work. Is that what it should be? Should it be something else and how do i fix it. the controller works fine with all other games but this. Pushing in on the stick causes a menu to show up, so i know its getting some information from the left stick

Have you installed the Xbox 360 gamepad drivers for Windows? Some games don't require it, others do, I believe TM requires it and I think it has to be plugged in before launching the game.

I figured it out. I went into big picture mode and set it there, exited big picture and then it worked fine.
