Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR

Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR

HMD cannot wake up after sleep since 1903. Error code 15-5
Odyssey+ here, if I try to start WMR, steamVR or Windows Portal after some period of inactivity it shows error 15-5 and hangs, I can't close the portal window and the only way to recover is to restart PC.
USB power management is disabled, so is Mixed Reality Headset power management in device manager.
That was the first thing I did when started experiencing this.
OS is the latest 1903 with all the patches. Latest Beta SteamVR and WMR driver.
Reinstalled WMR, checked OS integrity with sfc, nothing seems to help.

Signing out and in after idling before starting VR seems to be helping too.
Similar thing is reported on reddit.
https://www.reddit.com/r/WindowsMR/comments/clo2mx/steam_vr_only_works_once_per_pc_reset/
having a similar issue. mine wont even start up after a restart. I have to disable and re enable the driver after every 2-3 restarts to get the headset to be recognized.
same thing for me except mine doesnt turn on when i put it on my head or if i run steamvr/MR portal it shows connect headset. if i unplug the hdmi cable and replug it back in it all starts fine. just seems to be when i turn off my pc or not use it for a day or two.
Seems like I can avoid this WMR hard lockup by just restarting Steam before consecutive launch of SteamVR.
And it seems that solution doesn't apply to everyone. Mine has been broken for a month now, and in all that time, i was only able to get it work once, after reinstalling WMR, as well as my video drivers. It worked once, but never again. I have turned off/restarted my computer so many times since, and it never works, ever...

Really hoping they find a solution to this. This is very frustrating.
Solution? There is no solution. You can run it only once, if you shut WMR down to launch it again you need to Sign Out first.
I got the exact same issue with my OS+ but i am still on 1809. Log in and out or restarting PC helps but it's very annoying
This is crazy. Still causing us issues. Need fixing fast. Can we roll back to an old version?
Odyssey+
AORUS GTX 1080 Gaming Box
Dell XPS 9370
Windows 1903
Samsung Windows Mixed Reality 800ZBA
Driver Date: 6/21/2006[ (SIC)
Driver version 10.0.1.18362.1062

I've been driven demented by this the last few days.

With Windows 1809 the Windows Mixed Reality app was starting up but after a very short period the camera locked on to gaze direction and then crashed.

I started off by trying to update the firmware on the Odyssey+.

Despite disabling USB power management, trying two different VR capable machines, the headset was not found and I've been unable to confirm the current firmware version or update it.

I've since uninstalled and reinstalled the Windows Mixed Reality application and installed Windows 1903.

Things have gotten worse.

Now the Odyssey+ is not found. I get a 15-5 error code from WMR.

What do you mean by "sign out"? Sign out of steam? Sign off of windows?
As far as i know, there is no signing in for WMR, or am i missing something entirely?

A complete fresh reboot of my computer does not let me use my WMR even "once", so what am I missing here?

Thing is. My O+ and WMR has worked without any snags or issues solidly since i got it at the start of this year, only running into this issue middle of last month. I've never had to worry about "signing out" or restarting my computer, or reinstalling anything. Then suddenly, it just completely stops working altogether.

Sign out of windows. If that doesn't work for you, tough luck, contact MS support.

Every tech support strand from MS regarding this issue ends in people reinstalling their OS because nothing they suggest actually works, so tough luck indeed. :\
I found another fix that's less disruptive than signing out, you just have to restart the Windows Explorer process from task manager before putting on the headset.
