Steam VR apps rendering on screen not on the headset
When starting applications/games from steam it only renders on pc screen and in mr headset its still Cliff House

does the steam VR status give any indication of what it thinks is going on? Several people have had issues until they reinstalled steam.

My personal experience has been that VR only apps (like Raw Data) will launch into Steam VR when launched from the desktop while Windows Mixed Reality is running, but hybrid apps (like Obduction or SPAZ2) will launch into the non-VR mode when launched from the desktop. To get those apps into Steam VR I launch the apps from the Steam House/Steam VR Dashboard.

Hi, I'm Paul from Microsoft. Here are a couple of things to try first : make sure to follow all the steps here: http://aka.ms/WindowsMixedRealitySteamVR . This will make sure that the Windows Mixed Reality SteamVR preview is working. The next thing to try is indeed what Darax mentions , make sure to launch the app into VR mode. I tried the Belko VR escape room (hollegar's issue), and when I launched it from Steam ("play in VR") it indeed launched into the headset. hollegar : it looks like your Steam VR status is not showing Windows. Did you follow the steps to setup the Windows Mixed Reality SteamVR preview ?

Hi Paul, yes I followed all steps, installed windows mixed reality SteamVR and set SteamVR to beta version. Can there be a problem that i have installed oculus and htc vive? Both headsets are disconnected when using Windows Mixed Reality

First, I have a Vive and a Mixed Reality Headset and have gone back and forth. I don't have an occulus though...

hmm... something doesn't look right in your screen shot, it looks like an 'older' version. Instead of an H in a hexagon, I get an icon that looks more like a visor. And the 'greyed out c' that stands for a controller doesnt' show up, but if I have a motoin controller an image of the controller (which looks custom to the MS controller) shows up.

This makes me wonder, did you opt into the beta for the Windows Mixed Reality Steam VR Preview?

out of interest Darax, and not meaning to hijack this thread, as you have both Vive and MR, what are your thoughs comparatively on them?

i checked both with Windows Mixed Reality Steam VR Preview in beta and without of it. In beta version it looks this way https://gyazo.com/3b18c4b3e0557f0740958715e2101b69 , and controllers show up in game https://gyazo.com/135c56bf477717e8557ea4056cfccafe but game still doesn't render in headset.

PC_ARCADE, I work on the Mixed Reality team, so my point of view wouldn't be objective. That being said, I've really only used the Vive to double check that Steam titles behaving poorly on Windows Mixed Reality Steam VR Preview behave properly on the Vive. My experience is pretty limited.

Hollegar, could you submit feedback through the feedback hub app? Mark it as mixed reality/apps. I'll also check with the devs to see if there is anything else we can do to triage this. I really want you to get it working.

Hollegar, can you please share your OS version (should be build something like 16299.XXX)? Can you also confirm you see this behavior with multiple SteamVR apps?

My OS version is 16299.19, i tested it with Audioshield, Belko, Bigscreen, Google Earth VR, Job Simulator, The Lab, Space Pirate Trainer, Tilt Brush, Trials on Tatooine and Belko

Difficult to say what is happening here without logs. Can you please submit feedback through the Feedback hub app? Make sure 'SteamVR' is in the title and mark the category as Mixed Reality Apps.
