Steeltown Path with Synths?

Somehow messed up badly over in Steeltown when attempting to finish it. Arrested both Crow and Lapides, freed the synths/they left. Which completely killed Steeltown with no leader and no support for it.

What is a way that one can free the synths/follow that general path, but also without letting there disintegrate so I can pursue that for a future playthrough if someone can give a general decision guide?

I presume it's somewhere in the branching chat with the Synths or Blue if anyone can give a walkthrough.

just threaten to kill them, they will change their minds to help instead
