There is one reproducible bug that can prevent finishing the game involving a particular character. If you have the provost following your party, entering the end area of the game will soft lock the game. This character can't be dismissed so you either have to kill him or complete his unmarked quest.
The DLCs are good but they play differently to main game engagements. They each have their own combat gimmicks that can be off putting on first play through. If you want to know what to expect without major spoilers Steeltown has you quell a worker's riot using non lethal equipment provided by the DLC. For this DLC, this is optional and not required for the best ending though. For Cult of the Holy Detonation, combat engagements have infinitely spawning enemies until you complete the objective of the engagement. This is not optional and can lead to very long combat scenarios, Overall I enjoy the DLCs now that I know what to expect from them but they can be very off putting when you don't know what's coming. They're a good couple of hours of content each, have some really good loot and can affect the main game's story depending on your choices.
All in all it is a really good RPG that could be an all time great if the devs ironed out the major bugs. I still highly recommend playing it if you can put up with dealing with whatever bugs you might experience because I do still consider it worth it.
Wasteland 3 has excellent enviromental storytelling, so if you're not trying to play on the hardest setting and powergame the game (you'll find some extra balancing was needed too), it is quite enjoyable.
Wasteland 2 ain't bad, neither.
If you don't have the right skills, it becomes noticeable very quickly. This is made more difficult by the fact that you can have bad luck and can't find a suitable weapon. If you find one, it doesn't have the right level and is far too weak. Until you find a good weapon you can actually leave the character at home otherwise he would just use up valuable ammunition.
Yes, you can reskill... but that's really expensive and becomes much more expensive each time. It's not like money grows on trees.
A lot of things are poorly explained or not explained at all so you have to read and search a lot on the internet.
There is much more to say but the list is simply too long. Even if a lot of things are tough and not obvious complicated and not beginner-friendly, even if you spend a lot of time on the desktop searching for information on the internet because you really have to deal with the game intensively, the game is still a lot of fun. It's a great story and has a great atmosphere even if it's really difficult on higher difficulty levels.
The game is recommended but be prepared to start over two or three times because you are definitely using the wrong skills and in the end you don't have the money to retrain.
Things that urgently need to be changed for Wasteland 4:
-Make weapon and Armor level independent. I would rather have more customization options so that you can use your favorite weapon until the end. Then every weapon is useful at all times.
-Double-barreled shotgun with magazine extension? AP cost reduction for faster loading would be more logical.
-Craft is confusing and with a lot of things you make, you don't know what they're actually good for
- More vehicles please
-Rework pets. Running stubbornly towards the opponent without having the opportunity to give commands is immediately destroyed with a rocket hit. This really needs to be solved differently. Commands like, go there, stay here, protect players, attack, guard me etc.
