Once you double cross the Commune you will never be able to trade with them again. I even got Neutral rep after the double cross and they still refused.
Before talking to Wolfe, remove the cyborged ranger. Pick anyone else then talk to Wolfe, get the Book. Return cyborged ranger to party and use combat book.
I had no ‘cyborgs’ on the team, nor had I ever opened the CyDoc’s shop or purchased anything from him. I got the combat shooting book from Wolfie, but im guessing theyve patched acquiring both rewards. Unless someone knows a specific workaround.
It was my understanding that having simply purchased a cyborg kit (even if you dont use it) locks out Wolfies book.
I havent tried using a kit so there isnt one in the inv, and then dumping the ranger from the squad (like you normally do with Cordite) My feeling is that purchasing the kit is somehow registered by the game... but maybe not?
Hmm interesting. I will try this trick in the future then. I understand that this method you did and it worked? I want to be sure.
That's what I was worried about, if you buy the cyborg kit you'll piss off Gary. Well, I'll check in when the patch comes in and let know here in the future for confirmation.
I can confirm this from a playthrough I did last week. Maybe in the past it was possible to cheese through by removing cyborged rangers and got patched to be the kit.
