With it being $8 right now I think it's hard to say that it's not worth it, even if there are some bugs. It's a good game.

If you already loved W2 then the answer is simply: absolutely.

It has received numerous patches and the number of bugs I encountered can be counted on one hand (although the one driving me pretty nuts, but I already lamented about the Antiques Appraiser enough in another topic ;)... and might change for you but still, it had a lot of improvements)

In addition, the DLCs are (in my humble opinion) also way, way better than people are saying (apparently mostly because they don't seem to understand a couple of things, likely just rushing in instead of thinking it through beforehand). And should you really don't like the DLC(s) then you can easily ignore them as they add separate locations.

And with discount it's really a no-brainer. :steamhappy:

Writing is trash, seems that even those writers that Fargo had to do W2 left him for pastures greener.
As a result the game's world is just a comic-con fanfic bore-fest.

Sure there are some amusing entries but generally its childish and primitive. As a self-respecting comic book/anime should be! Yay!

In other news they even trashed the message log! No more thin red paste, imagine this? Blasphemy. Instead they made the world map a bells and whistles laden 3d environment. Hooray.
Generally the game is inexplicably geared towards the consoles.

Meh.

PS it's *abundant* in most respects. but not very good in most. Writing was defo better even in W2.

PPS I'm thru about under a half of it. Who knows maybe it will take off suddenly? Lol.

Worse than W2 but still very fun IMO. It has coop which is enjoyable but extremely buggy.

I'm gonna say absolutely, despite the fact I haven't played 2.

There are some minor bugs but comparatively speaking it really isnt that bad. Turn off autosaves and keep an organised manual save log, that way you can quickly reset and try again if any minor bugs do hold you up.

I've also heard the DLC are trash, but given the main game seems at least 60 hours of content, I don't feel any more content is really going to be needed; that could just be me though.

I knew nothing of the franchise, just saw it looked like Divinity 2 but with Fallout NV style setting and theme. Loving it so far and I think I'm barely out of the intro quest sequence.

I just finish the game first time last night honestly its worth checking for discount price but Ill say this I think the game is a step down when it comes to role playing from 2 I find the world less interesting the quests aside from the main quests are okay at best so is the companions in this game what really this game shine is the combat its so much fun and improved from WL2 not XCOM level but its still a lot of fun which what got me into WL2 in the first place but ended up liking it for RPG and lore. So in short better combat but worse RPG.

Also a dissimilar this game low key has some banging music in some big fights a unique song will play and some of those really good you just pause and listen

Wasteland 3 is shorter than Wasteland 2, by about half. It took me like 100 hours to play Wasteland 2 and only 50 or 60 for Wasteland 3, without the DLC. At the end of Wasteland 2 I was at level 41 or 42 with my rangers, at the end of Wasteland 3 I was at level 25-26.

The two games use the same Attribute score names, but the Attributes work differently in the two games, which is confusing. Wasteland 3 does not have individual character inventory, it's all shared, and there's no weight tracking or encumbrance, you can just carry everything. Wasteland 3 does not have individual Initiatives that really mean much of anything. Assuming you can initiate combat by taking a sniper cheap shot, you get "team turns" and can move and shoot your whole team in whatever order you like. you can even hop back and forth to have different guys take individual actions interspersed. In Wasteland 2 the amount of Action Points you got per round was a complicated function of your Coordination, Strength, Speed, and Intelligence. In Wasteland 3 you get 6AP + Coordination/2. In Wasteland 2 you got different amounts of Skill Points to spend when you leveled up, depending on your character's Intelligence. In Wasteland 3 every character gets 3 skill points per level, regardless of Intelligence score, you just get one bonus skill point whenever you raise your Intelligence, which has a maximum possible score of 10, so maximum Intelligence get's you 10 more skill points overall, not any more per character level. Charisma was almost worthless in Wasteland 2, in Wasteland 3 high Charisma causes you to gain levels faster, which is not bad, and also you get higher Strike Charge Rate, meaning that the frequency with which you can do Strike attacks with your weapon is higher. Strike attacks are like an Ult that charges up with every hit you score and when it's fully charged you can use it as an improved version of your weapons basic attack. In Wasteland 2 you only got an Attribute Point at every tenth level. In Wasteland 3 you get one at every level above level 2. Animal Whisperer and Toaster Repair are both pretty marginal skills to have in Wasteland 3. In Wasteland 2 there were a few skill books and some very good trinkets that you could get from fixing toasters. And there were a lot of them to fix. In Wasteland 3 most of the toaster stuff is not "best in class" and very skippable, and there aren't quite as many toasters. Animal companions in Wasteland 3 give buffs and can fight in combat, but don't do a lot of damage and cannot be controlled by the player, they act on their own AI and often get underfoot and in the way, making it harder to get your rangers where you want them and harder to use AoE attacks without hitting the pets..

yeah they surely did those songs but they stick out.. not like a sore thumb ofc but it's distinct from gameplay. I've noticed those special tracks everyone would that probably was their aim too.
