Spoilers

You need to get "Loved" status among the Hundred Families and the Marshals. Choices you make during the early game will effect this. I racked up a lot of Marshals rep by handing over virtually every prisoner to Sheriff Daisy, including MacTavish and Brygo, and the snotty rich kids at the Garden of the Gods, (though I think you get Hundred Families Rep if you don't do that?). I also chose to rescue the Arapaho Caravan instead of the Hoon Homestead in the Heads or Tails mission. I arrested Mama Cotter for Reyes and installed Reyes as my advisor in the HQ, along with the Arapaho guys as my mechanics. I handed the Hie sisters over to the bounty hunter. I transferred the Reagan AI to the HQ in order to thwart Mother Nancy's plot and make the Gippers restore oil service to the Springs. I believe restoring heat to Col Springs, in some fashion, is required, and I never did the DLCs so I don't know if the "nuclear option" works or not.

Once you get to "Loved" among the Hundred Families and the Marshals, before you go to Yuma, you have to talk to Reyes and ask him if he's go along with a plot to take the Patriarch out, and he'll say "No, I can't agree to that, so if you're going to do that just don't tell me" or some such political doubletalk. Then you have to talk to Sheriff Daisy and ask her if she trusts you enough now to back your play against Saul, which she will because she doesn't trust him (he killed his first three wives and wanted to marry her next, which she smartly declined).

In my play throughs, I did NOT go to the Old Survivalist Bunker and I did not free Ironclad Cordite. I went to Yuma, talked to The Mechanic, and did his plan. I cleared out the Godfisher windfarm and then the Scar Collector Tech Mine, then went after Liberty's main HQ area, cleared the Dorseys, and talked to Libby. While talking to Libby, I chose the Hard Ass 10 option and talked her into surrendering. On the way back to HQ I got a radio message from "Dead Red" about taking out Saul peacefully, and then proceeded to HQ and talked to Kwon, Greatski, etc and got them to go along. I told Jodie Bell we'd still deliver the supplies to AZ, then we all went to talk to Saul and told him he was done.

It's easier than most guides and reddits make it sound. I figure most guides copy-pasted incomplete information between themselves right after the game got released and then never bothered to check any of it. Got clicks and pageviews, mission accomplished.

@Radiac here is for the most part correct, but that's not the one and only way. There's a fair bit of leeway. So let me try and summarize what the key things are:

* Oil from Gippers.

Yes, absolutely. You can do DLC #2 and leave the Holy Detonation running. I can sort of almost maybe confirm it does work (I edited my save just to check), but between the two very insane cults them Gippers are definitely less insane.

* Reyes as your "politruk".

This requires arresting Mama Cotter, causing you to lose reputation with Wastelanders, but their opinion - some missed story/RP opportunities there, I might add - is not important. If you care, it can be done peacefully if you're otherwise on good terms with the Refugees.

I will admit I thought I had failed early on, because whenever I asked Reyes he said something like "it's too late for a peaceful transfer". I read somewhere that the game sometimes bugs out. Apparently he does support you in the end as long as you're Loved with the Families. So take note of that.

* Loved reputation for both Marshals and Hundred Families.

Delivering prisoners to them is not strictly required. I never handed them a single one. [s]Jedi[/s] Ranger business, go back to your drinks, etc. You *must*, however, talk to Sheriff Daisy and have her commit.

* The fate of Saul's children appears to be of no importance.

While Red Dead will ask you to kill them all (and berate you if you don't), it's certainly not required. In my run only Valor "died" and then because of them Gippers. I hauled in everybody else. Even Vic, although that's the one I strongly regret. I might add that I expected some Machiavellian arguing from Liberty. Was a bit of a letdown. Got my Hard Ass Aviators on for nothing much. Uh, anyway...

* You can shoot up the bunker. In my run Cordite slipped and fell, but I don't believe it matters. And as long as you keep being non-commital, Red Dead will keep bothering you o'er the radio and you can proceed with the peaceful transfer in the end.

Hopefully I made it a bit less confusing. AMA.

as far as a i know, these conditions have to be met.

---marshalls loved you.

---hundred families love you.

---gideon reyes has to be in your hq. you may or may not have to talk to him and go through his dialogues and you can ask him stuff like "theoretically, if we wanted to overthrow the patriarch, how would we do that?" and he says stuff like "yeah, no, the patriarch won't go peacefully " or one other time he said "if you are going to go this route, i will support you but i wish to remain ignorant, do not speak of this to me again"
i forget the exact wordings, don't @ me in that.

---the gippers have to be alive, sending oil. you can choose to either help them completely and they will gove the oil in exchange, or you can take their "God" hostage and force them to cooperate with you. (this is tied to the partriarch's son and what you choose to do with him)

---some sources claim that you have to "kill" all 3 of the partriarch's kids, but i arrested them all and still got the ending.

---you also have to talk to sherrif daisy at some point and ask her if she is willing to support you in the regime change.

---the patriarch also has several first aid checks you can make throughout the game that if you pass these checks, you can observe that he has a health condition that makes him unfit for rule and he tries to deny it.. i don't know if this is related or even necessary (the final check is a first aid 9 check), but in the end, i was able to talk him down peacefully without conflict.(and i was kinda disappointed there actuslly, because i wanted to fight him. i was looking forward to a large scale battle, lol. but then, there is also a different path that leads to that, so i still got my rocks off)

---you do have to side with angela deth, but you do not have to do everything she says.

---you do not have to use ironclad cordite, but i think you might still need to "rescue" him. you just don't have to bring him with you for that part of her plan where she wants you to help him go to Kansas or something. if you go to yuma speedway without him, he just gets pissed off and leaves and says he's gonna do it on his own anyway.

--- i also saved the hoon homestead, arrested mama cotter(i think this is the only way to get gideon reyes in hq) and i killed faran brygo. i also never send anyone i arrested to the marshals, because i know the marshals are just gonna crucify them. i sent every prosomer to the brig in hq, because it also improves your "hidden" internal rangers reputation.
i don't think any of these are "reauired", but they are the easiest way to become loved with marshals and hundred families

\m/ -_- \m/ to sum it all up. those were all the choices i made on my first playthrough and i was able to get november reigns this way.

edit : it kinda does annoy me that you are a bit pigeonholed into playing a specific way to get certain acheivments, of which it's totally understandable if you want a specific ending,

but then there are cheevs to get every lore book and get every cassette and get every vehicle upgrade and you have to make specific choices at specific key points in the story or else it locks you out of them. i missed 1 cassette and 1 lore book in the first run and when i went back for them, i couldn't go back for them because the areas were altered or locked out and the items were no longer gettable

thank you guys, most guides are just copy and pastes of wrong informations
Icedfate Dec 24, 2022 @ 3:59pm
most info is,from 2 years ago. they likely changed stuff since then
Radiac Dec 24, 2022 @ 6:07pm
All the things I did were examples of stuff that will get you some faction rep with the Marshals, but you only need to have a certain amount of rep with them, and you don't need to do everything I did. I just felt that the kids in the Garden of the Gods, MacTavish, and Brygo were all well aware of their crimes, and the codified punishments for such, when they did what they did, so they got what they should have expected to get. It's cold, cruel Wasteland out there, so don't do the crime if you can't do the time. The Hie sisters were maybe the most egregious example of stupidity run amok in the whole game.

As for the Hoon Homestead versus Arapaho Caravan mission, the Arapaho side gets you faction rep with the Marshals, the Hoon side gets you rep with the Refugees, I believe. Also, if somebody is going to die on that mission, (and they are, one way or the other) then I'd prefer that their death not be in vain. Saving the shipment of Power Armor before it get's into the hands of the Scar Collectors is a military objective worthy of taking some casualties over, in my opinion.

And I killed Vic Buchannon, because he messed with the wrong Rangers.

the thing woth arapaho vs hoons though, there's a cheev for getting all the lore and if you don't save the hoons, then you miss a lore item and can't get the cheev.
i don't mind that there are hard choices that have long lasting consequences, but i hate when one of those choices locks you out of a cheev or locks you out of some missable collectible item or something

also, if you plan to take the gippers god hostage, make, sure you get liked with them first and meet sister reckoning out on the world map so she gives you the car upgrade, or else you won't get that cheev either as taking the god hostage ruins your rep with them.
it's actually possible to repair the rep, but it involves you having to spend hours going in and out of denver and then rolling around the map looking for reckoning to kiss her butt over and over

Not sure why there's so much added information here lol.

To get November Reigns:

- Loved reputation with Marshals and Hundred Families
- Must have Gideon Reyes as your advisor (this means arresting Mama Cotter)
- Must talk to Sheriff Daisy and Gideon Reyes to get their support after you have loved reputation
- Must get Gippers to continue sending you oil; basically, don't side with machine commune (apparently the DLC can negate this requirement; but I didn't use it)
- If you meet the above requirements, Angela Deth will radio you to talk about a bloodless coup after your confrontation with Liberty; you must agree with her plan.

Everything else doesn't matter
cool thanks, simple and easy.

A little bit of Thread Necro. started new playthrough, going for November Reign (again).

Back in the days, I hated that I can´t support the Robots, How exactly can I use the DLC to side against the Gippers?
Icedfate Apr 25, 2024 @ 2:58pm
because one of the dlc has an alternate way to get the oil, i believe

And which
Icedfate May 2, 2024 @ 12:45pm
it's been a long time, but i believe it's the cult of the detonation. one of the choices you make.
the game is written such that you can't softflock yourself if you ruin your faction reputation.

and actually, i might be confused here, as i said, it's been a long time since i played.

doing some googling, i see some stuff that if you wipe out the gippers, you can convince fishlips and his gang to take over the oil production , but i dunno if that results in the same ending.

The requirement is not the oil supply itself from the gipper but restoring the power to colorado, which can also be achieved through the holy detonation DLC if you follow the scientist NPC's advices.

Never done the achievement myself.
