Monster Army Bunker: Game breaking bug

After combat ends with the room with four bomb hoppers, a very strange bug happens. I'm able to move my primary ranger around, but the camera follows them even though I'm out of combat. I can pick up items, but when I move far away enough from my original location (where combat ended) the screen goes black and white like the character isn't there.

Furthermore, I cannot move any of my other squad members. This has happened three times in a row now. And for some reason, reloading the most recent quicksave is an endless loading loop unless I force quit the game and start it again.

update: the game has the camera follow my characters when out of combat, even when I have this turned off in options
