6 AP attack is OK because you can attack twice if you have morningstar AI (+2 ap) + the plating you buy from the friendly robot shop in denver (another +2 AP for total of 12 AP). Sure I guess that means you could attack 3 times with payaso vs 2 x with railgun but I do prefer the railgun in the long run.
Don't forget to examine the special abilities of the guns, it's not entirely about their main attacks.
payaso is an accessible powerful gun until railgun becomes available, that's all that needs to be said don't overanalyze it
Kodiac shoots electrifying sizling "orb" on clustered enemys. And then
"goat butts" them, so they are immobile in the orb ... for a few rounds :D
Damn ... you should hear them complaining and utter "death" moans through the
rounds ... for they know they are dead, even though they are still alive :D
