Missing Ironclad Cordite from Ranger HQ

I saved him, but my roster was full, and I liked my team, so he said he would meet me back at the base. He did. I saw him in the roster, but still didn't add him. I figured I would use him later, because many people said he is important for the ending, and I didn't like melee fighters.... well...
When I went back for him, he was gone. No longer in my roster of people at the HQ.
Is there a way to get him back?
Is he like hanging out somewhere on the map, if you don't use him?
Or maybe just a cheat code to make him pop into the roster again.
Just seems like a bad glitch.
I went to the raceway, and he calls me on the radio, and says he will kill me for not taking him with me, so I loaded an earlier game, to add him, but...still gone.

Found him. Someone else posted that he was hanging out in the lunch room. Be sure to remove a team member before visiting him, so you can add him when he asks. Then you can take him back to the control center, and wipe his stats, so you can make him any type of character you want. I made him a heavy weapons guy instead of a brawler.

Except for Jodie whom I think hangs out in the garage, all other companions hang out in the mess hall. If you invite the teens to play their board game in the mess hall, Pizepi will join them there because she's also a gamer. I think she also hangs out in the mess hall regardless. Don't know about Victory though if you recruit him.

Vic probably hangs out with Finster, pestering him into starting up the Darwin Project again.

Unfortunately, in my case Ironclad was not at HQ because I had already spoken to the Mechanic in Yuma. Even despite the fact that I did not go into the door after which Ironclad calls me on the radio. Old save file saved me, but an hour of my life is lost forever.
