How to deal with the exploding pigs?
I've got to the warren and can't figure out how to stop them.
No matter what i do they will blow up and kill 2-3 people due to their ridiculous long movement range.

There is 4 of them, and if i'm lucky i can kill 2.
Trying to tank them is uselss as they will run past my melee tank and blow up the weaker behind.
And staying away is as i mentioned impossible since their movement range is way further than what my sniper can shoot.

So anyone who did this part, what did you do?

Don't waste your time on pigs, they'll get you anyway. If you don't want to experience too much pigs, try to remove one flamethrower so they don't set fire to them. If not possible, then It's better for the pigs to target the tough rangers so they don't take out your fragile ones. But.. the tough ones should stand next to each other and block the way, then the pigs should take ur bait.

If you have animal companions set it so that pigs don't pass. Sometimes the pigs will attack one of the rangers and your pets.

During the final fight in warrens, if you have a sniper, set it as it was behind the door. Start a fight with a sniper or a rocketeer with a high impact perk. Use decoy to prevent enemies from shooting when pigs are crushing tough rangers. I can't think of any more. What are the difficulties you play on? Because this is my tip at SJ level.

Well i gave up and just took the deaths.
And it was standard difficulty.
I did manage to minimize it to 3 though.
Tbh i got lucky since 1 pig did stop at my tank, while i'm not sure what happened to the 2nd flame guy since i left for the kitchen waiting to be wiped again, but when i returned he was gone and no pig blowing up.

Anyway, hated this level, and hope the rest of the game isn't this bad.

Were you using bottlenecks? Snipers? Even being in cover can sometimes mitigate some of the damage, depending on where they detonate. You can try and focus fire on the pigs can be lit, or the clowns before they can light them. And if you are taking losses, you can try bunching up your custom rangers in those bottlenecks. You can top up with replacements back at HQ.

Spread your guys out as much as possible and take out the clowns before they can light the pigs. Have at least 1-2 of your people with decent First Aid skill to heal/revive.

There is no bottlenecks, you need 3 people to block the path, thats allready half the people.

Well if the sniper can barely get them in range, noone else has any chance at shooting at them.

throw out a couple turrets to block the path

The Bizzare section is 100% cheesable, have everyone stand far away in ambush then get your fastest guy to run in and run out.

The bad AI will drip out 1 by 1 and you can slowly pick them off. Flamethrower guys are so far back it will take more than 2 turns for the pigs to reach you. But if they do get close they have almost no armour so just focus them

Because I was so far away the pigs killed more clowns than I could lol

Yes, I was hoping balance would be better in this update. My 3rd playthrough, and many things are still crazy difficult. I can get through them only by save scumming constantly. Pigs; Clown Museium; and now with Sant'a Workshop, and am getting slaughtered by Super santa and his FLEET of bots.

I just end up giving up on strategy, and finally have to use crazy cheese tactics to continue some battles.

(Ranger diff) I had the rest of the party 1.5 combat moves back, I would open with a rocket, then run my heavy/explosive dude back as far (only about 5 squares with the -50% move speed) - rest of the party isn't in combat yet. Next turn the heavy makes it back to party lines, the pigs have moved into range but without enough AP to explode, I kill them on turn 2, then move on to the more traditional combat with the clowns.

It is finding that sweet spot of just beyond the pigs max movement that takes a save scum or two. Also trying to be far enough away so your pets don't go all crazy and run out to get pigged.
