Empty buildings on the map
Just as it says. I'm only really posting this out of curiosity of some of the empty structures I've seen on the map. Having completed the game already, I still cannot get them out of my mind. Such as the black obelisk-like building just east of California springs. Or the strange bio-dome structures down in the southwest (especially seeing as they are patrolled by a scorpitron) Or the mysterious road leading to the far east of the map that seemingly leads out to no-where.

Having just read that the devs are making their second (and last) DLC. I am left wondering, what of these empty buildings that we have seen around the map? Are they going to be left alone forever? Are they unused assets? Placed there as simple mysterious backdrop? Or something that will be added as hidden updates, such as seasonal updates?

What do you guys thinks they will be used for? And have any of you seen any strange buildings or locations on the map you have wanted explained yet? Let me know.

Could be anything you mentioned. The Devs might have originally planned on something but then decided to leave them out, or put them in for a future DLC or just decided they look cool. As development teams change all the time you never know.
In terms of the bio-domes, there are a number of bio-dome projects in the American West, the most famous Biosphere 2 being an experiment done by Columbia Univ in the early 90's which has since been taken over by the U of AZ. Kanye West originally built several bio-dome structures in CA but then had them torn down. Wastewater Compliance Systems out of Utah sells Biodomes systems for wastewater treatment for small communities. And even outside of the US, there are many projects - Montreal converted their Velodrome built for the 76 Olympics into a bio-dome and then there is the Eden Project, in Cornwall, UK which is like a biodome city with several different micro-climes installed in each to educate the public about different climates in the world.
The original Wasteland game came out in the late 80's and both this and the later Fallout games which were also presented by Bryan Fargo had lots of references to contemporary 70's, 80's and 90's culture. The whole biodome concept became pretty famous in the 60's and 70's, roughly around the time the developers of the original Wasteland game would have been in high school/college.

Would be nice if the game dev opened up steam workshop utilities. Custom quests to add, collecting all those unused assets, unofficial patches.

Interesting. Patriarch's personal archive? While each of his kids has a room in the Patriarch's Palace, he doesn't seem to have one so I wonder if this piece of lore wasn't included in the completed game.

At this point I'm pretty sure that decision is ultimately up to M$, not the devs.
