As for the other items, you get a selection of decent weapons of each category that you can use at level 1. They are useful in the early game (ranger HQ & Colorado Springs) but not much later than that. Their advantages are pretty slight. For example, the Sniper Rifle, Cold Death, has a slight range advantage and does more damage than the normal Slag Sniper you start with, but by the time you get to the Bizarre you will be needing better weapons.
But really I want to support InXile because I want them to keep on updating the game and I hope that someday they will release a Wasteland 4.
From what I can recall of, the badge provides a +5% exp but also +1 in every Attribute, doesn't it?
It is strong!
I know the game has its flaws and bugs, but like all your games it also has a strong soul and displays a huge amount of work and neat creative choices (ie: Mary Ramos and Mark Morgan). You are true video games creators.
Thanks!
That, I don't remember - I don't think it increases every attribute. I was a backer at the lowest level and opted for the PS4 version. I haven't fired up my PS4 since March as I live in Nevada and I only use consoles in the cooler months. I'll take a look but its likely that not only will I have to update the game, but the system as well.
I counted a total of 11 unique weapons that I got as well. In addition to the higher damage and range (+3) for Cold Death, it has higher Penetration (+1) and increased Strike Rate (+20%), The unique AR also had higher range (+2) and Penetration (+1), but instead of increased Strike Rate, it had a strike ability. The shorter range weapons didn't have higher range but they had other bonuses. They will need to change their values though as they are each valued at 20 CD which is really low - like a junk item, but not - so there is no point in selling them.
Yep it is extremely low, but early game it still can be useful hehe :P
And that hat is really strong early game too!
Anyway, I would love to buy these pre-order items for a fairly reasonable price, both for my game comfort and to support inXile work!
In a way that is true, but it's more complicated; even if Microsoft has the money, most of the case the devs have to prove their work is profitable and lucrative for the editor. Otherwise, what you say is kinda true because Microsoft is not EA or Activision and will probably not cut out the funds for InXile, the studio is here to bring money of course, but I think it is part of a wider strategy, including prestige and solo video games. Nevertheless, I really think it is important for InXile to make money, if they want to keep on having their freedom to make good games in the way they intend to make them.
Also, I worry about the fact that Bryan Fargo originally intended to retire once WL3 was released, but was persuaded to stay by the big$ MS paid for inXile. My view is that once your mindset turns to retirement, you ARE retired.
And in addition to my own negative experiences with the Xbox consoles, when they originally tried to make it a requirement to force Xbox owners to be connected online in order for Xbox games to work, that put the final nail in the coffin to me in terms of whether to spend my money on new Xbox consoles.
I loved the fact that inXile was an indie and most of my new game purchases have been with indies, although I will admit the track record has been spotty. I also used to love Paradox as well but now that they have started a subscription service for their games, I have a feeling that I will not be so eager to buy their products. I refuse to buy subscription software - I stopped buying MS Office products when they went subscription only. I am afraid that is the new model for games owned by the major names.

That's the most recent article I could find on it. Looks like it's optional, and only just two games for now, but I share your skepticism Rhony2. I'm kind of surprised their trial run was successful, but I suppose I really shouldn't be.
Welp, that indie crowdfunding thing was fun while it lasted.
My biggest issue with subscription, and not just with software, is while its easy to start, getting out of it is a nightmare. Companies claim that you just have to call them to stop and they will stop it immediately, but that is not true in my experience. With several of the subscription services I have had in the past, I've had to call my credit card company and ban those companies from ever having access to my credit card ever again. A real pain.
On the crowdfunding thing, perhaps I was being a bit too pollyanneish about it then, but I had real high hopes that it would be the next big wave in gaming; big name devs giving arm-twisting publishers the middle finger and getting the freedom to make the games they want to make and that their fans want to play. An end to contractual disasters like the one with Arcanum. Ah well, at the very least they managed prove that there is still a large market for the isometric, turn based CRPGs that publishers largely abandoned years ago.
Now? Whatever titles/devs PDX hasn't bought up, M$ has. At least Larian is still independent, right?
But with a lot of these monthly subscription services, you have to give them your CC nbr - you can't really buy a fixed period sub from a 3rd party and use a keycode to activate - I prefer that as the companies themselves don't have access to your CC nbr. I do that with my malware protection - I don't buy them directly from the publishers since they automatically put you on auto-renew without even telling you. Really ticked me off. McAfee is the worst, but that came with my computer when I bought it - since it seemed to work ok, after the 2 month trial period, I bought a one year sub. As soon as I downloaded the new software, I could no longer use windows update so I removed it and bought a different program from a 3rd Party. A year later, I get a notice from my cc company that McAfee had charged me so I had to call them to have that reversed. When the same thing happened the following year after they knew I no longer used their service, I had my cc company ban McAfee.
Looks like it released today
