How common is the Kwon and Lucia leaving bug?
This bug happened to me early on in the game (the first bizzare quest) and kwon, lucia, and jodie leave after every encounter now. This basically kills my game as I have no access to any more companions where im at in the game. From what i understand this is a known issue and theres no real fix. Im willing to restart and make a new game but if this is a common bug, id rather just move on to another game then waste my time. Whats your guys experience with the bug? Is there a fix?

So I'd say that it's definitely a thing, but it doesn't seem common enough to deter from starting a playthrough.

As far as I can tell, this bug happens because of splash damage or friendly fire. So, if you are using something like a shotgun and some splash damage gets on a civilian - Kwon and Lucia may treat it as you attacking civilians on purpose. Or if some of your allies (not rangers controlled by you but allies controlled by AI, like in the slavers fight at HQ, for example) deal some friendly fire damage to some other allies (or even friendly turrets) - Kwon and Lucia will again treat it as "your fault" and "you attacking innocents". I think you can avoid the bug by paying close attention during battles. If you'll see some complaints appearing above your companions ("What are you doing?", "Stop it!" and so on), just reload and try again.

What Kwon and Lucia leaving bug? I played this game since its initial release. You must be some evil dude for them to leave you.

Never happened to me either. Did this happen after the 1.5 update? I haven't played since that update.
If you attack innocent civilians who have done nothing to you, they will leave. You should be careful about who shows up in your line of fire. Also you should have received a warning if an innocent is in your line of fire.

Bug? I would call it a feature. If you play reckless and hurt civilians the companions will leave. In the latest patch 1.6.9.420 companions warn and your attack is stopped so you will need to disregard the warning and attack anyway. In the game you can turn off friendly fire so that is not the problem.

Its clearly not a bug..happend to me too when i shot a rpg into a room and didnt reckognized there were 2 civillians close to the barrels....find a way to do the battle without killing anyone but your enemies! They also give you a warning before you shoot like "Wtf are you doing, these are civilians" or something like that

It was a bug and I already moved on from the game because of it. I did hurt any civilians at all, not with splash damage or anything. I would play through an entire encounter then they would randomly leave saying that I was hurting innocent people. After doing more research I found it listed as a known bug on the developers website and not fixed yet (atleast at the time). I think it had something to do with teamates taking damage and it being counted against you for no real reason. But hey Pillars of Eternity was pretty cool. Didn't encounter a game breaking bug the first 5 hours too (in fact I didn't encounter one at all. amazing when games work right?)

That game is fully patched from 2015. Still after playing for a couple of hours... missing voiceover missing pics of the npc your talking to... But this discussion is about a WL3 from 2020 not fully patched still...
