Irv Clones
Not really a spoiler since there are some threads already.
Are there any real benefits to employing Irv the Clone?
Some people report the clones are only good for a distraction. Well thats usefull, but at what cost? Downsides?

The clone has high hit points and it's only attack is a melee punch for really low damage. As such, it's there to absorb attacks and, as you said, distract the badguys. It behaves like a pet, which is to say it acts on the pet initiative step and you can't tell it where to go or what to do in a fight. Like a pet, it can get underfoot and block narrow doorways etc and like a pet you end up trying not to hit it with AoE attacks. But there's no real drawback other than that.

On high combat difficulties clone doesn't distract anybody. The real drawback is turn time. It takes forever to wait until allied turn ends. And unlike your pets clone damage is awful.
