Pink Goo bug - please help

Hi all so I lost my clone by removing its paired ranger in the HQ squad recruitment thing, and then when I put him back in my squad he presto the clone diseapeared. No sign of him cant kill him, not in the HQ and gone...

Can someone please help me? I can see one main option here but I'm stuck.

I might need to literally edit the save and add the pink goo item into my inventory? If so how do I do that?

I wrote about this in my huge bug/QOL post a while ago.
Pets
Clone and other animals including Billy and Jean and possible others will stay near you after you dismiss them but nobody will be able to re-recruit them.
The only named one I have found that you can re-assign is Major Tom, but do not ever leave to a new map he will be gone. If you dismiss Major he will hang around and ANYONE can recruit him if you have AW 1 or a cigarette.
Regarding changing a clone to another person. Take him/her out to the front (or anywhere) and kill it. Then pick up the pink goo and use the Ranger you want to have him around go get a new clone.
Don't worry about others especially cats there's tons, but Stags etc are NOT everywhere.
Funny-I bought Polly and she disappeared on me early (probably died I don't know) but her BUFF has been on me the whole game.
There are so many sloppy bugs and glitches in this game, as much as I love it I am disgusted by it also. Originally a labor of love is watered down by Microsoft (who bought InXile in 2018 so they could have this segment of gamers) so console players can mash buttons.
Watch the next Patch will cater solely to consoles.

all that explains how i gt here not what to do now. there will be a way i can edit a save or cheat to get the item back in my inventory

I checked in my save and Pink Goo's item code is: ITM_QuestItem_PinkGoo. So just add that in the editor and set the quantity to 1.

I will also mention that I never managed to remake the clone. After my clone died in battle and I picked up the goo, I went back to HQ and talked to the doctor. I could chose all the conversation options normally but a new clone just never appeared and the Pink Goo was still in my inventory. That was in coop though, maybe everything works normally in single player.
