Divinity Original Sin 2 vs Wasteland 3
Besides bugs and being polished which game is better. Which game has a better storyline and gameplay?

I loved Divinity Original Sin 2 and I thought they did a fantastic job creating unique storylines for the characters in your party. I prefer Wasteland 3, though, because of the other characters in the world, the lore and world-building, the humor, and the memorable moments.

DOS2 is way better. I mean of course everyone has an opinion but in a head to head poll, DOS would smash this, and I really like wasteland 3 but DOS is a true masterpiece.

DOS pretty much set the standard for these type of games, its like the witcher 3 of overhead cRPG style games.

i enjoyed wasteland 3 ( no major bugs or crashes thankfully ) but it doesnt feel anywhere near as complete as dos 2 base game does.

Dos 2 is the best crpg thus far, though Baldur's Gate 3 is gonna come out soonish which will be amazing (made by the same creators of Dos2). Was never really able to get into Pillars of Eternity 2 unfortunately (combat just wasnt that great imo).
Divinity Original Sin 2 9.5/10
Wasteland 3 6.5/10

How does DOS1 compare to WL3?

DOS1 was amazing, though imo you probs wanna look up a general guide (where to go and such, as well as suggestions for party compositions) or you'll find its a bit rough. Its def a bit more hardcore than 2, but it was a ton of fun.
I haven't played DOS1 in a while, but I'd def recommend trying it out. Should be noted that the story of 1 is kinda related to 2, but its more general background of the world and not directly related (there are some characters you'll recognize though). You def don't need to play DOS 1 to play 2.

Taking out preferences for story/world building, DoS 2 is what WL3 should have been. It's much more fleshed out. It's pretty much WL3 had a lower budget to begin with (DoS1 was a much bigger hit than WL2 so Larian had a lot of money from there), and Larian has absolutely done an awesome jobs on the game.

On a scale of 10, I would say as far as gameplay and content go, WL3 is 7 and DoS 2 is 9. PoE 2 is around 8.

I don't think I like Obsidian lately with Chris Avellone departure. Tyranny was meh, PoE was good but not great. The Outerworld is decent but not New Vegas. I suppose it's a good thing Baldur Gate 3 is being handled by Larian and VM:Bloodlines 2 a different studio.

Baldurs gate 3 being made by Larian is a freakin dream come true. I cannot WAIT for that game!!

tbh, it's comparing apples to oranges chief in a story perspective. You don't get to have the narcissism of a solo run like in 2

Have they already confirmed a director's cut for WL3? If so I wonder if it will be free if you already have WL3 now?

DOS2 is the better game, both from a technical and narrative point of view.
Gameplay wise, I'd say the match is closer, as I enjoyed both games greatly, with DOS2 having a leg up.

I think Wasteland 3 will close some ground once the director's cut is out with fixes and extra content (especially the cut content).

how about pillars of eternity?

Pillars of Eternity is a strong attempt at reliving the glory days of Baldur's Gate and those Infinity Engine games of old. That means the battles are in pausable real-time vs. the turn-based combat in WL3 and DOS2. I prefer turn-based. Also, I just didn't find the world building in Pillars as engaging as either WL3 or DOS2. If you like WL3, it is a pretty safe bet you'll like DOS2.
