"Martians" at tellurium mine... any good way to solve this one?
I went with supporting the scavenger bots that were literally offering food for the guy in exchange for tellurium, and killing the synth and the other bots.

for which I was basically told to *uck off.

do you get a better ending if you wipe out ALL the robots? or is this one of those "guy is just sad and lonely and angry at the world" kinda things?

All the bots were hostile in my game, not sure if it was a bug or what. So I ended up killing them all anyway. Bulb was sad that Trudy died, but he was very grateful to my Rangers for clearing out the mine.

Same here, all were hostile, so I took them all out.

You do get a better outcome if you wipe all the robots out.
The other robots were forcing him to mine tellurium for them, they were "bleeding him dry" is what he says. This way he gets to keep all the ore and make profits from it. The dog is dead but... it's a cruel world.

I think you need to get the robot outside to give you the name of the robot inside you need to talk to have a chance at talking with them. Which you should do, the conversation is quite funny.

I killed the guy when he didn't give me a reward.

... The reward wasn't on his body.

Just in case anyone was wondering... Lol

So no point killing the miner, unless you just like killing innocents.

With that in mind... Next time through I'm going to see how many people I can kill... Might have to have more than one melee characters so I don't run out of bullets.

There's an achievement for killing everyone in Downtown Colorado Springs - so far it is sitting at less than 0.1% completed. Good luck, Fluff Bunny.

He was lying. the bots were actually leaving him food in exchange.

Sort of, if you examine his place you find they were leaving him canned beans and canned dogfood. Which isn't really enough to keep a guy alive. And goes right to the bots not understanding humans.

There is little Servitor You can talk to near the enterance to the mine, You have to talk to it to get more peacefull options.

yup, if you start combat before talking to null ( the little bot in the "pit" in the middle of the cave), then all the bots will be hostile.

Why would he lie?
If his survival depended on the bots he wouldn't be happy they were gone. And he is very happy when you kill them all, and very unhappy when you don't kill them all.
Just because the bots gave him some food doesn't mean they were not extorting him.

"Why would he lie? "

that's a good question. but lie he did. there is no question about it. the scrounger bots had been leaving him food for years. he does not mention this at all.

the scrounger bots never hurt him. they saw he left them tellurium, and so they started offering food in exchange. that is NOT extortion, by any definition.

Taking away the results of his hard earned work using the threat of death is extortion. Even if that threat is just implied.
Leaving pocket change so he can slave away for a bit longer isn't a deal, especially if he can't refuse "the deal".
And you wouldn't mention the scrap someone gives you if you can survive without and you don't want it but are forced to accept it. That's not lieing.
