2) Assault rifles fall under Automatic Weapons while Machine Guns are Machine Guns so no fire modes just auto. This is different from Wastleland 2 with assault rifles but not machine guns.
3) Is there a way to view all the skills for your party, or do you have to do it by character?
6) I got that one kid and his crazy sister (Getts kids?) and they are both in the garage at HQ. I have talked to that Arapho mechanic in Downtown Denver but don't see any options that would lead to recruiting a mechanic from his shop. The Full House is not complete yet and it doesn't mention that I have found mechanics for HQ. Are there more I need to find?
7) How do I get radiation resistant parts for the Kodiak so I can travel to irradiated areas on the map? That 1 mechanic, the Getts kid, is in there working on the Kodiak but no buy/sell options appear when I talk with him.
8) Is there a non-violent option for dealing w/ Lewis Stenerud and the smugglers? I met him but didn't commit to a fight until I'd raised my hard ass and kiss ass in the hopes that I can talk my way around that, but I don't see any dialog options to do so when I talk w/ him.
9) I have a very high lockpocking skill and medium luck skill. I am not finding any particularly good loot when I pick safes and open chests. It all seems about equal to the gear I currently have. Are there any particulary nice armor or weapon items found in crates or safes? I would assume there are.
Edit: 5) Orange ? icons seem to just mark locations, they don't mean there's stuff to find there.
6) There are other mechanics to find.
7) There may be multiple ways, but going to the bizarre leads to at least one set of mechanics (I also have the kids and these mechanics, which I think is why I have access to level 2 radiation protection stuff).
Re: the other mechanics to find, I am guessing it'll happen during the course of completing missions? I haven't gone to Denver yet. Just focusing on doing as much as a I can in the Colorado Springs are and the surrounding areas that come up during the course of missions.
Now then, you also CAN NOT recruit any animal of same kind ONLY IF there is other member with same companion too close. So for example, you want to have two rangers, each with cat pets: It is best to make one with companion stay far away (like on the other map edge) or not in squad at all (don't worry, companion persists thru exiting/re-insert into active squad formation) before recruiting the additional cat.
2) Nope, no different firing modes. Only thru active skills (eg: Covering fire from perks or Double shot from certain shotgun) or Strikes.
3) Errr what do you mean by this? If you mean checking "is there any other party member with same skill?" then the skill description covered that. If you meant perks, simply click that "show/hide unavailable perks" part. But yes for perks you have to check and list them individually by yourself.
4) Closest early is elemental type (the ferret launcher and flamethrowers). Then there are Meson cannon and Photon Launcher, but these appeared late. All of them are rocket launcher type
5) Because there is something interact-able in those room? Maybe for really later in the game (like one of those room in Colorado apartment)
Re: 5) there is nothing interactable AFAIK in many of the rooms where the ? still remains in the minimap. I've already looted and searched them.
8) Have you all encountered much or any in the way of destructable environments or objects that can open up different routes? I'm standing in front of that giant inflatable frozen gorilla, hoping that shooting it will give me an alternate route into the base of Lewis Stenerud and the smugglers. When I select one of my warriors and go into target mode and cycle to target objects, I don't get an option to target it. It's an inflatable gorilla...you'd think we could destroy it to open up a new route.
