My walkthrough guide is live with lots of build and companion info
https://www.neoseeker.com/wasteland-3/walkthrough

Been working on this for the last week and plan to keep at it for the next couple months give or take to have the most comprehensive guide available. Normally I push it when the game launches but people have said they're hungry for build info, companions, etc, so here you go.

(To answer in advance, I only write guides on Neoseeker, so there won't be a Steam version, sorry.)

As always you're free to contribute or comment and let me know what I can do to improve it, what you'd like to see, etc.

I'm not far but the game is great from what I've played btw. Ask questions if you like.

Could you add pictures and or screenshots for the companions? For some reason no noe seems to ad them.

Will see what I can do.

Edit: doesn't work well with our formatting unfortunately. I will add a "group photo" for the generic companions though.

Can you quickly get to 6 party members from 4? I'm trying to map out my party builds and it's been awhile since I played Wasteland 2 but I only ever remembered 4 members at a time. I was going to go with a similar build now but with the option of 6 members, I'm not sure how that'll impact things or..when.

Yes you can very quickly get to six. About 10-20 minutes in. Keep in mind two of them have to be pre-made (chosen at start of game) or story companions.

awesome, that's a big help, thanks! 6 characters is going to be an interesting step up from 4, unless I'm mis-remembering the max party size in W2...which i thought was 4.

It was seven. You created four then could recruit three. Though those three were NPCs if I remember right.

Will this be like the other Wasteland games where I create my main character then proceed to create my squad.
destroyermaker 27 AGO 2020 a las 11:22 a. m.
You create two (or select from various pre-made pairs) then shortly after create four more. You can also recruit story companions throughout the game. Max party size is six and two of them must be pre-made or story companions.

Right on! Not to sidetrack your thread but I couldn't believe there was 'new' xavier material this year, did you see this? It was almost too good to be true.

Didn't hear that. Awesome news.

Updated again with tons of unique weapons, armour, items, a guide on how to apply custom portraits, etc. (The gear pages will be fleshed out fully tomorrow.) Hope you find it useful and enjoy the launch. Tis a fine video game.

Ok so after spending some time with the game, I'm curious if the main drawback between 4 vs 6 character parties is simply the dilution in XP? Is that a valid factor? Surely XP generation isn't static between party members (outside of the trinket bonuses)?
alation13 27 AGO 2020 a las 10:36 p. m.
I have found a fault in your guide relating to getting past the robot during the "Welcome to Colorado" mission. If you have "nerd Stuff" level 1 you can hack the computer and have the turret kill the robot. When you loot the robot you get some nice stuff.

EDIT: Also it is not in your guide but to recruit "Major Tom" you just need the nico pops that Pvt. Jodie Bell gives you.

Keep up the good work.

Would have to be tested but every other game is like that (i.e. lets you sacrifice party members for XP, which is a fair trade off). I don't have time to test it but if anyone does let me know and I'll incorporate it.

Stuff like this is really valuable since I can't have every skill and dialogue option covered by myself my first playthrough, so you or anyone else, feel free to keep pointing it out (or editing it in yourself). Can you tell me exactly what you get from the warbot? (i.e. any utility items or rare/yellow gear?)

The Major Tomcat thing is on the next page (Rangers' Last Hope).
