Evasion Discussion with Ninjew and WinSlaya
Greetings Commanders!

I had one guest join me for the recording of the video: Ninjew.

Below I have the notes that I took before and after our discussion (please feel free to add anything that we may have missed):


Generic Tips:

* Melee bypasses evasion/ evasion does not work against melee attacks.
* Flying gives +10% evasion against most weapons (not flying v flying weapons) very few flying units have melee attacks
* Small target gives +15% (units like the pustule, and the piglets come with small target)
* A few units come with Prime rank: evasion; i.e. huntresses, shrikes, lancers, dvar prospector, emergent, deep one, runner, owl, bike, sharkarn infiltrators, sharkarn recon, misfortunes, bouncers, paragon fanatics, Medusa get evasive at prime rank.
* Bouncers can boost evasion of nearby friendly units with Primal pheromones: Prance. Can spin to end in defense mode (ends with 85% evasion)
* Skitter gives 5% evasion for each hex covered in the last turn.
* Vanguard gunship, and assembly lightning rider get evasive maneuvers, which works like skitter.
* Cover is less useful for high evasion units/ it might be better to go for a flanking shot. Cover applies after evasion, and reduces to hit by 50%. So lets say you have 10% evasion, and cover would add additional 40%, then it is probably better to take cover. If you have 40% evasion and cover would only add 20%, it maybe better to try to get a flanking shot.
* Great for getting melee units into melee range.
* Bypass cover doesn’t counter evasion (so evasion is good when fighting against huntresses)
Cover can be destroyed
* Missed shot can hit adjacent units.
* AoEs hit targets with high evasion, especially if you use fire burst and target the ground next to the enemy units with high evasion.
* Enemies can boost their accuracy through mods like Exploitative Targeting System to deal with your evasion.


Playable Races/Faction Notes:

Amazon - 3 amazon units get prime rank:evasive; 2 evasive boosting mods. Can tame animals with skitter, small target, and flying (not all in one unit).
Assembly - Comes with a mod that boost evasion.
Syndicate - Mantra of clarity. mirages boost the evasion of adjacent friendly units when they use their defensive mode.
Vanguard - sensor mod, pugs can obscure
Kirko - 2 units get prime rank:evasive, hidden can boost evasion with cloud. Mantra of clarity
Shakarn - 2 units get prime rank:evasive; skitter mod.
Dvar - N/A


Secret tech Notes:

Voidtech - phase manipulator is flying; T1 evasion mod
Synthesis - T1 evasion mod
Xenoplauge - pustules have skitter
Promethean - N/A
Psynumbra - N/A
Heritor - N/A
Celesitian - N/A

I am still trying to figure out how to win the first planet, I get so far and all of a sudden it is war and they throw everything at me. The one race attacks me for no reason, they don't even declare war, yet as soon as I go to take back my area's bang war.
