How to play the Amazons?
Hello,
I'm new to the game, I've only played the Vanguard/Prometheans so far.

Next I want to try the Amazons, probably with Prometheans again as I've heard it's a good fit (I hesitated with Xenoplague, but I think I'll play the Kirko with that one).

I'm looking for any helpful tips for playing them, and combat wise what would be some good units/weapons/mods combos, sure I will experiment but it would be nice to have some pointers :)

Thanks and have a great day everyone!

I would still go with Xeno. Huntresses are amazing shooters (first bio mod removes up to 3 armor per turn) and then Xeno provides free melee units to deal with high-shield enemies, also Xeno can greatly benefit from reducing resistance to bio which Amazons provide via support unit and first tactical operation.

Normally Army wide armor/shield buffs are better than HP buffs, but when you stack multiple of them HP suddenly become attractive

This is basically an amazon specialty since you can get a +5 and a +10 from seperate hero skills AND a +10 from the doctrine.

They're fine with any secret tech. I find Promethean comfortable with any race just because of healing and status effect removal on basically all your units from turn 3 of the game.

- Xenoplague is kind of a natural combo because buffs with the "animal" tag effect the 3 xenoplague units. Celestian/Voidtech are popular because the 1st secret tech unit they get is changed for amazon only to be mounted and they are definately better with 25 bonus HP on a faction that normally doesn't have good melee until it researches the lategame clone predator. I think the other secret techs are a little overshadowed on Amazon, BUT the generic Biomancer's Scan ability does lower damage resistance and status effect resistance at the same time, which is low-key awesome with Synthesis/Psynumbra which have a ton of status effects.

Of the generic units

Shrikes are kinda lame if used normally(like most scouts tbf) but you can stack evasion mods with their innate evasion for some laughs (not as practical as stacking evasion mods with the xenoplague units imho)
Huntress armor melting is fun, but their low base HP is kind annoying
Biomancers are top tier healer and scan is an IMBA support ability
Harrier is like the most offensive Tier 2 Flying unit in the entire game. Having a secondary hero in an all flying stack for cleaning up neutrals and treasure sites is probbably easier for anyone other than like Kirko or a Voidtech Phase Manipulator airforce.
I think of the Arborian Sentinel as a "militia unit" It's nice to know what it does when you have it but I almost never build it and only see it when I get it as a reward etc.
The High end stuff in the obvious military tree is less offensive than most factions but still gets the job done.

Following the Unit Mods toward "restorative cloning" is random but 5/7 things it can make are better than the Bombardon/Tyranodon that you can build.

focus on hunting you can easyly tame animals via an operation+ abilitys of abyssians and biomancers and they get buffed when tamed xeno is kind of natural but i recently played amazon promethean which was a vvery pleasant experience

I personally prefer Celestian amazons because it provides two quite powerful options. First is combining amazon lightbringers that are flying with harrier-mounted heroines to create flying doomstack. To do that you only need to research just 5 tech. Second is more for late game, when you play from the act that Amazons=Heal and Celestian=Heal. You take heavy units like Tyrannodon or at least Bombardon and support them with Tenets of Healing Biomancers. This is results basically in undying stack.

Another interesting option is Voidtech amazons - you rush research, getting Tyrannodons asap, then you put phase drives on them. As a result you get to teleport your dinos right into enemy lines and tailslap them to death.

Amazons combo well with most secret techs.

The only one that may be sub-optimal is: Synthesis
( has more synergies with mechanical and/or cyborg units, and is mostly useful against mechanical or cyborg enemies )

Ehh. The synergy with mechanical/cyborg units is overblown to be honest, all it gets you is free Integrated status without adding one of the Synthesis mods. Except Synthesis mods are great to the point of being one of the primary reasons you take them as your secret tech, so you're really not losing anything by just slapping like, Guardian Daemon Shell on everything.
