Vanguard PUG possible exploit
Hi

I've watched Vanguard stream of one guy, and PUG have 2 skills:
1. Heal - 25hp once per battle
2. Resupply - resets on cooldowns AND ONCE PER BATTLE abilities. Once per battle.

So, as a result, if u have 2 PUGs in army, you can make infinite healing which leads to heal exploit (disable last enemy and wait till full army is healed) like in early versions of AOE.

The obvious fix - make Resuply NOT affects resuply skill OR (even better) resuply can't be used on PUGs or other units with resuply ability.

But maybe in final version it's already fixed.

If you want to use two unit slots in a 6-slot army for PUG's, which are not really offensive oriented, by all means go ahead. You won't have much firepower as a result. OTOH, if you mean having one PUG in each of two or more 6-unit stacks and the stacks simultaneously attack the same target as a unified force, then this is indeed fairly potent support. But I would not put two of them in the same army.

I like how you are making topics complaining about bugs, when you are watching a beta build...

Maybe calm down and wait for the game to actually launch before you start trying to report bugs that you don't even know if they are bugs or not.

... betas are created for searching for bugs o__O
and it's much better to create topic about bug in beta than find this unfixed bug in full version.

Yeah, uh, that's intended. There's a size limit to each army you field, and PUGs are not an offense or defense oriented unit, they're a support, and putting multiple support units into your army should increase their effectiveness.

Age of Wonders is a high lethality game. Units die in droves simply by the nature of the game's damage to defense ratios, with a single good three shot volley from a basic unit taking half or more of a T2 units HP. That heal needs to compete against that kind of killing force at a basic level, so if you're fielding multiple PUGs, you need them to be able to pull their weight in keeping expensive units alive, because the enemy has vastly more killing power than you.

Even back in AoW3, where it was possible to have characters who could heal constantly, it wasn't really worth healing most of the time unless you were healing something expensive and valuable, or couldn't make an effective attack.

Two PUGs in a stack is already 50 hp per turn plus other modifiers plus natural recovery. If you've taken more damage than that I guess it could get you some benefit for some goofy play at the end of a battle, but it's likely with that kind of healing your stack would be full in short order anyways.

The slightly silly thing I can think of is alternating heals during live combat for a 25 hp heal every turn, but the ability only has a 3 range, so they'll be exposed. If you think that's going to be the only broken silly thing you can do, I suspect you're going to have a rough launch. Have you SEEN some of these mods? There's gonna be dumb stuff happening everywhere, and it'll be glorious!

You are not even playing it. You have no idea how the game is supposed to work and are taking the word of a streamer who isn't even playing the final build or an official public beta build.

You are literally complaining before there is anything to complain about. Just relax.

2 Pugs like that means they aren't fighting, and the lethality is indeed high in this game, although imho slightly less than in AoW3.

And if the Pug is healing, it isn't resetting abilities.

Soif a PUG heals, it needs to be recharged by the other PUG, so in that turn it will deal 25 hp max.

And fighting an enemy, you will be receiving quite a bit more than that.

Also, there is the APC support vehicle, available to all commanders, which has a healing drone, that heals about 25 or 30 hp per turn.


Plus Kirko get a form of regrowth, and absorb pain.

basically, PUG shenanigans are small change compared to some of the tanking that is possible.
