Control a Captured Colony
So I captured an enemy's capital Colony and own it but I can't seem to do anything with it all it does is contact the faction that used to own it. Is there a way to get the colony to start producing again?

You need to click the colony and pick one of the two options that ends up absorbing that colony into your empire over a number of turns, only after that time period can you start building things in that colony

I don't have those options. Is that a later unlocked ability from tech research? I have had that option before on other colonies but this one doesn't.

Is it campaign map? Then maybe it is scripted to behave this way. Otherwise it is a bug I have never met before. Can you provide a screenshot of what you see when you click on the captured colony?

I don't know about your current situation, but whenever I encounter the bug where options are omitted in me being able to attach regions to a colony or something similar, I find that I need to exit out of the game and reload in order to fix that bug. But Yeah, I don't know what would be causing your problem, otherwise.

I have the exact same issue, there are a few bugs I've come across since staring to play this week but I just ignore them as not much one can do that I have found. Maybe the logging out and back might help as another person commented, hasn't working for me though. Still, I like the game and now I'm trying a campaign which is fun so far.

I don't think you needed to make peace to annex the dwelling. Pretty sure conquering it just lets you do that.

The only way to really capture an NPC minor faction dwelling is to achieve integration with that faction (the highest relationship level) and to have an adjacent colony and to diplomatically contact the faction to annex their dwelling.

I'm gonna have to explore more to my left to find the rest of them since I can't take full control of their colonies until they are wiped off the planet. Which is lame since I have control over it but am currently at peace with them so I'm gonna have to go to war with them again which will just make every one else mad at me :sweatyeye:

You can only annex NPC dwellings like any normal region or outpost, it's just easier to do so in war--cause you don't need to wait for 60 influence.

Standard annexation rules apply, so you will need to have a colony within two regions from that NPC dwelling with enough population that they can annex the territory.

Yeah you just straight up annex them - none of this stuff about increasing relations with them again. Just click Modify Sector -> Annex Dwelling to <cityname>

Alright I'll do that :praisesun:

Wow I still learn something new almost everyday in this game. I really was not aware of the option to use force for annexing dwellings. Thanks for correcting my mistake. This forum is awesome.

I was able to place a colony next to the dwelling and after a few turns annexed the NPC dwelling. :VBCOOL:
