Why no shoes?
So I started a game with the Amazons last night. I really like them so far...but I have just one issue with their design...why no shoes?

They have high tech armor and stuff...so why nothing to protect their feet? :steamfacepalm:

they are bio engeniers, not tech engeniers, so, its not manufactured "high tech armour" , like you think, what they wear.....

They bioengineered their feet to be usable on all terrains so that they wouldn't need shoes.

Or the artists just liked it that way. This complaint keeps coming up, but I have no idea why it bothers people so much.

It not like it bothers to the point of not playing them or anything...I just think its a strange design decision.

female armors is always nice and few proctections :)

Well in this case the few protections only applies to feet. I don't really have that particular fetish though...

Honestly, the thing that got me was that they' have all those animals around and no shoes? I guess they just pay very careful attention to where they step. And that their tougher-than-leather bio-engineered feet never get cold or dirty.

It's the trope of having characters barefoot to show how "in touch with 'the earth' (or nature)" they are. Personally, it bothers me because it's a cliche and I find it lazy whenever it's used. I don't know, maybe it was intended as parody since the Amazons are supposed to be so advanced.

The "not tech engineers" doesn't really hold water. What are they doing their advanced bio-engineering with? Sticks? Their animal units have cybernetic enhancements, so they've obviously got enough tech to make a pair of boots.

on another note, if we go for the fact that most fantasy mmos go the way for female armor that it gets more skimpier the better it is, the amazon armor cant be so great in the first place in this game.:steammocking:

Too many guzzlers defending it.

Somebody should make a mod for Amazon that gives them some super high sexy boots. Would download and rate 10 out 10.

Well human feet were tough enough to go through savannah, mountains etc, long before we had shoes...:S

But I can see the OP's point.

Minor thing to quibble about in such a fantasy world :).

Yeah and life expectancy was like 20 years old, because they didn't take care of dem toes!

Someone make a mod that lets you drop caltrops in hexes in tactical combat that instantly kill all amazon units because none of them wear footwear.
