Every time they hit prime, they are reset to the lowest level and moved up a unit, until they reach the status of being the T3 unit, Siren.

Basic Psi-fish will become T3's if you keep fighting with them.

Also just discovered that the tier 4 unit, the Medusa, revives dead Psifish as chrysalises. And of course the Siren turns enemy units into chrysalises. I have trouble keeping them alive to evolve them but even a swarm of undying chrysalises is a welcome addition to my army :)

Chrisalis->Spawn->Hunter->Siren. It takes a while but worth the effort. Try to get the last faction mod for them, it lets them do their job much more effectively and safely.

one more:

Chrysalis->Spawn->Hunter->Siren->Medusa.

chrysalis also have a useful AOE attack, that oddly can clear low health cover (like a grenade).

Sirens are just brutal though. great ranged attack that causes mind break frequently, and both the full action attacks will disable any cyborg/organic for 2 turns each, and you get a free chrysallis at the end of combat. they can't use cover, but they are bloody tough and immune to many common forms of damage (like burning). ethereal means they usually take grazing damage from physical attacks, or they just outright miss. good unit. so is the level 2 Hunter. it's melee, but has an ability to totally disable a target for a couple of turns, and each attack has a decent chance of life-leech.

so yeah, basically once you get a couple of levels on a chrysalis, they are usually tough enough then to survive until they morph.

I thought the metamorphosis stopped at t3.
