Faction creation is terrible.
When you compared the massive options we got from AoW3 to this game. The faction creation is not even there. If you pick a race. You are forced to do all those things of that race. So if you where hoping to go play dino riding borg dwarfs. Then you will not be allowed to do that.

As dino is only set for one race and only one race. The borg stuff is only for the borg race. Pretty much taking all the freedom of faction creating away from AoW and making it some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Civ 6 clone.

It was a decision to make races more unique rather than mostly all being the same with the main difference being class of your hero. It's not like you could create a Apprentice Succubus Manticore Rider in AOW3 either. Which is what your basically suggesting there.

Yeah what Sifer2 says. Not very different from AoW3 really. And all factions are really unique.

So really no clue what you were hoping for. But dinoriding Assembly would have been really weird imho.

What the hell do you mean anyways, half the units in aow 3 are just different skinned but identical in many cases.

All the criticism I'm seeing thus far is idiotic, so I guess that's a good sign.

I've seen multiple people leveling this complaint and i just don't get it. AoW 3 had faction specific units and class specific units that simply changed their visuals+some stat changes depending on the faction that was recruiting them. People are talking like AoW 3 allowed you to create custom units or something. The only difference here is that units are all either faction specific or secret tech specific. The first 2 AoW games(+ Shadow Magic) had only faction specific units + neutrals so it's not some gigantic departure from a series staple.

There's infinitely more customization now in the MOD system than there ever was from the AoW 3 classes.

I totally agree with you on AoW3 having special faction units. The units where based on your factions special aspects. No, I feel they did this to appeal to a wider group. The game is so dumbed down. There really no reason to play this over other 4x games out there.

So you like dumbed down games that make Civ 6 look like a good 4x game?

One thing you like is hyperbole, I guess. You also must not be very smart if you thought you were going to be able to mix and match unit rosters to the point you could have "dino riding borg dwarfs."

Or, more likely, you'd already made up your mind you didn't like the game so you seized on the first straw that seemed reasonable and came here to whinge and seek validation. Waste of time but it's your time to waste.

I don't see the OP point here, maybe cuz I don't have the game yet.

Seems to me like AoW3, you pick a race then you pick a ''class'' or specialization. Each race has its own units and you can't get them unless you conquer another race or somehow obtain it thru battle or events.

Can someone correct me pklease?

I played the game for many hours. It a worse version of AoW3 in every way. Though I think it ironic that you are going talk down to me. While using a sheep account.

What the hell are you trying to say op, are you sure you played AoW3?
