AI and Bots is the same thing.
No.
AI/Bots was a term to cover the topic of working against computer generated opponent. I should have ask how it works. It is fun, or is problematic.
Games against bot are functional but not challenging in the least. You should win by a landslide every time.
There ARE bugs, but they are minor and never game-breaking.
The interface is a bit clunky and sometimes results in a lot of mis-clicks while trying to pick up and drop off workers and resources. Games against people can be very frustrating because there is no undo/cancel if a misclick happens, even if nothing has happened that changes the game stats (meaning combat, or a card revealed).
All things considered, I would go with the BGA version if you want to play against people, and get the steam version if you want to play against AI-bots.
[Edited to fix sloppy typing errors]
Polania's riverwalk ability is displayed incorrectly. It FUNCTIONS correctly, but people who have not memorized Polania's riverwalk terrain types will need to look it up on the internet or look at their physical board from the physical game.
Some of the combat mech abilities will display incorrect pop-ups even though they work correctly.
Some mech combat abilities do not actually work correctly, notably Albion's sword and/or shield.
I'm new here and installed the game after a long time in the backlog, and just wondering wether or not to buy the DLC as it's on sale. However if the game has a lot of issues then I have to say no.
If you think you will get hundreds of hours of entertainment out of the game for a price of $18 or whatever it is, then does it really matter whether they "deserve" your $18? Or whatever it costs currently.
Make the decision that brings you the most happiness and best value for your money.
I no longer buy anything related to Terraforming Mars because they have not made the one expansion I want, and, along the lines of what you said, I do not wish to further support them considering the abysmal job they have done thus far.
But that's a slightly different situation. This endless and ludicrous bugs in Terraforming Mars, 7 years after the game came out, is legendary and laughable and completely unacceptable. Scythe actually functions.
Is there a place to know a list of all known issues so far to be aware of them? I'll give a try and buy the DLC to give my support if it helps to maintain it.
yes. scroll up. I listed the existing issues.

I tried with some combinations of mechs and characters to see if the bug is present. Maybe there's an specific way to find the bug. Correct me if i'm wrong.
Regarding the riverwalk ability of Polania, it's correct that it's a visual issue. And using the riverwalk button feature to show in the board the movement of all factions only leads to more confusion.
If that bug is gone, then really the only existing bugs are occasional display glitches.
