I tested it here using a Xbox Controller via wireless USB. As long as my computer reckonized the controller before booting the game it would pick it up and be useable. I could also get the game to pick up the controller when visiting the options screen and refreshing controller as my selected control method.
Can you please if you have time try those steps and let me know if either worked for you? The feedback would help tremendously!
I only go to JOy2Key as a last resort.
And yes, it works fine usually - I just hate using it because xbox makes the most uncomfortable controllers, lol.
but eve when i emulated a 360 controller on my DS4 by using DS4 windows, the game doesn't register it. ( which it should, despite game engine )
To make clear, at least with my Xbox 360 PC controller. I was able to get it to work two ways....
Option 1
1. Plug in wireless dongle to PC via USB and confirm a steady green light on
2. Press on the controller the middle X button and wait for the green light to stop flashing and be steady on.
3. Boot the game (my game defaulted to Controller mode in settings)
4. Was able to play
Option 2
1. Booted game with Controller off, Went to setting screen in game.
2. Press on the controller the middle X button and wait for the green light to stop flashing and be steady on.
3. Switched from Joypad/controller to keyboard and then back.
4. Exited back to main menu using keyboard controls
5. From main menu controller was working.
I was asked to add a "listen" all the time mode to the game for controller. but it caused slow down on a few of there test machines. What would you think about a keyboard shortcut that would force listening as long as the short keys where held down?
i know clickteam fusion has issues with controllers and framerates, so it's not the end of the world,As i got joy2key to work nicely.
