1.0.4 - Latest Patch and Linux Support

Version 1.0.4 is live which adds a Linux version, dialog skipping and fixes a few other little bugs and typos.

I can't finish this version. I was playing through again to try and pick up the last few accomplishments (I like to get value for money) and I broke it.

First, I couldn't get the diabolical accomplishment. Everytime I tried to give him the book, she would say something like "I don't want anybody to know I've got this".

When I'd done all the tasks, I went to get the special meat, which I picked up. Then before it started fading out I right clicked on the kitchen door. I ended up stuck in Bertrella's living room when it faded out, then when I was back in Steggy's kitchen I didn't have the meat so I couldn't finish the pie. It also won't let me leave until I finish the pie.

I'm stuck.

But I got the "Wood in't hole", which I was trying before this version to get. So I'm happy :-)

Hmmm interesting. According to the way the game works you definitely *should* have the meat. Maybe the problem is you actually have 2 meat and this has made the game behave unpredictably. I'll see what I can do to make a patch for it (and also try to figure out what state your game is in!)

As for Diabolical: I think you'll find that 'give' isn't the verb you need for that. :)

Okay so there's an item duplication bug that needs fixing. Can really only happen with the Special Meat (because it's Special). I have a fix for that that'll be in the next minor patch.

Technically this bug doesn't break the game if it happens to you now: you simply have to scroll through your inventory to find the item.

How can you skip dialogue? Can't get it to work...

By design you can right click to skip dialogue you’ve already heard, but out of respect for my voice actors there’s no option to skip the first time you hear it. With apologies to the speed running community.
