Poetry
AI can already generate poetry with okay results:
Another example:
- code: https://github.com/kylemcdonald/gpt-2-poetry
- interactive page: https://kylemcdonald.github.io/gpt-2-poetry/

The topic was researched for decades. But such poetry still doesn't make any sense. It may have the right shape, but there's no meaning because it predicts the next word based on statistics and a couple of previous words without actually understanding what it means. The lines don't connect to each other, except by pure coincidence.

Although for me most of the world's poetry is like that, sacrificing almost all of the meaning for having a rhyme. So if they're feeding their nets with that then they're actually quite ok lol :)

One thing this game does well is choosing an appropriate level of AI sophistication. If the AI were too dumb (like GPT-2), it would be hard to believe that anybody would use the service. But if it were too smart, it wouldn't be believable in the very-near-future setting. Eliza isn't like the AIs of Her and Ex Machina, which are only believable as far-future speculations.

Yes, the AI is quite simple, pretty much like in real life. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a prototype of something like that because the technologies are here already, you just need to fuse them together, which is not hard at all.
