Fishing rod and line gets stuck -> bug solution
:hold_ones_tongue: :hold_ones_tongue: :hold_ones_tongue: When the line and rod (sometimes even more than one line) gets stuck on me, when this bug is happening, my solution (and it always worked well) is : Make now a manual save . Press ALT+Tab, close the game window, restart Eastshade, load your last manual save . Now your rod and line is free and you haven't lost any of your efforts !!! :hold_ones_tongue:

Cool!

Have you tried reporting this to the developers? They may be interested.

Thanks.
The reason you're fishing pole gets stuck is you must close the fish notification on the screen and make sure you've reeled in before going to your Inventory to get rid of your rod or check your fish etc. It's an easy mistake.

in2white, it's good you knew the answer! I never had a problem with it, so I assumed it was a genuine bug that hadn't happened to me !

I had lots of experience with it! I still get caught if not paying attention:)

Maybe I'm just a better fisherman...

... only joking: never done it in my life.
Never fished?! I love fishing but it's been ages. Good fishing out here but it's fly fishing, which I'd like to learn if I had money for all that. You live in area with lots of water....why don't you fish? Of course, I hate people who let them suffocate as thought they have no feelings, that's the bad side of fishing. No one cares about fish. I always dispatched them immediately, and never kept anything I wasn't going to eat. Otherwise, catch and release. Bet you're sorry you made that comment.... So, have you revisited Eastshade yet? I guess you haven't finished up Dishonoured yet. Must be a very long game! have you played the newest one of the series? Better fisherman you say....I've caught literally hundreds since I started. Hundreds! Speaking of glitches or whatever, have you compared the sizes of those fish. No way they could eat the guy used for bait. So funny. Someone needs glasses.....

No, I've honestly never fished.

I don't regret my comment at all. I was just making a joke at my own expense. I might know which end of the rod to hold, but that's about it!

Fishing is very strictly regulated here. You need a rod license and a permit for most rivers and lakes. On some rivers there is an annual limit on how many fish you can catch and keep... sometimes as low as 4 fish per year.

There's good reason for that. There's a little river running through my small town. I used to see eels and trout in it all the time... now you're lucky to see one or two trout and I've not seen an eel in years. Kingfishers are getting rarer... lovely birds. Partly that'll be lack of food, partly, mink raiding their nests.

So... lots of water, not so many fish.

Dishonoured is quite long but I'm playing it to mop up Steam achievements that I haven't got. Some are totally at odds with others, so not possible in one play. After that I may have a little potter around in Eastshade before going back to Styx: Master Of Shadows.

I totally agree with the rules etc. to regulate and reduce fishing. Over fishing is causing problems from the ocean to the little spawning rivers. We have all those rules, limits, too. You have to or some people will just take all they can get. We have issues with salmon. I think it's very sad that your river has changed. There's nothing more beautiful than a bountiful river and all the birds and other river dwellers that gather there. To see it destroyed like that must hurt and be a terrible loss for everyone who lives there, especially the kids I think. In time hopefully it will come back but it will be slow.
I remember you said you had to go back to get your achievements. It will be quite a change to go to Eastshade after playing Dishonoured I would think!
I have to go out today:steamfacepalm: Well, hope you have a good day. Tend your garden you lucky guy :)

The comment about the kids... I remember leaning over a bridge when my daughter was little. We could look down into the still water before the bridge, I'd point and say "that's a Rainbow Trout!" Now you can't.

My last Dishonoured achievements that I want are 'Spectre, Ghost and Mostly Flesh And Steel'. I'm trying for all in one go. Spectre and Ghost go hand in hand. They involve going through the entire game without being seen and killing nobody. 'Mostly Flesh And Steel' means that you can't get any of the aids that would help with this... that's tough but doable.

Good so far. 4 of 8 missions to go.
you must be a "completionist", that can be a curse! I know you'll get them all and then you'll feel great! I remember being a kid and how it was so look into waters and see amazing things. I'm glad your daughter got to see the river before it was ruined. I used to play in the, not ditches, but water overflow areas on my grandparents street, and we'd watch the crayfish, and frogs, and I even had a pet garter snake until my mother found it! It's not the same these days due to eradication of "pests" and polluted waters. It's very sad. Those are my favorite memories....and stealing peas from the pea fields. That was in Windsor Ont. where my grandparents lived. I'm an Ontario girl and have been stuck in Alberta for half my life. The only good thing here is the mountains but now I can't get there, I'm nowhere. I hope you had a good day. I survived the dentist! I got some new cat emoticons.....:bluecat::redcat::yellowcat: I like them because they're primary colours!

I'm a bit of a completionist, but I learned to give that up with games. Some achievements make a game a miserable experience for a given play style. Also, I'm just not good enough for some speed challenges... I have to accept that. I may not get all 80 Dishonored achievements. I'm just trying for ones that are challenging enough or plain fun!

Sorry to hear about feeling stuck. That must be frustrating.

Cat emoticons are always good! I should get some.
Yes, if you start obsessing about completing acheivements, the games would become work and time consuming instead of fun.
