I never brought the DLC of Sonic 06's Super Hard Mode or Unleashed's Hard Mode. So I'm not going to be taking on the Hard Modes
It's DLCs are called "Adventure Packs" which mostly add additional levels to the game AND as a bonus, harder versions of the base acts.
I also own those as well and they're pretty fun. The "hard" version of Adabat Day 1 is actually easier than the vanilla version, imo. xD
And Sonic 06 is STILL LOADING! I don't even bother with Sonic 06
P.S.: It doesn't load as much if you're installing it onto your 360's HDD (if you happen to have one, that is).
True.
(Sadly, I wasn't so fortunate to be able to have one. (I don't own enough 360 games to justify to myself buying one))
As for the loading in Sonic 06, it's worse when you remember that a decent amount of the loading is due to a glitch.
(Specifically, the town missions. When you select "Yes", a glitch causes the game to suddenly reload the hub world.
Of course, the scene only had one more line of dialouge, and then it was going to load the mission anyways.
So the first loading is the glitch, while the second was supposed to happen.)
This is why Sonic 06 needs to be redone and patched for next gen consoles as a remaster.
Like the Untiy one. I'd still really like to know how its development is going and when we can all except a full release. So far I only have the original on Xbox 360 and I'd like this on my laptop, both Xboxes and my Switch, though console ports are not particularly likely of this version in particular.
SEGA should hire the people behind the unity one. It's the only way to fix Sonic 06
Like they did with Christian for his fangames and ports and now he's made Sonic Mania, which is a good callback to the Mega Drive games.
Yeah. that's one way of doing it. But the Load times for Sonic 06 are nothing compared to the Installation Time for BioShock

The Load time for BioShock's installation is about 10 minutes but the load times for Sonic 06 are crazy! It has so many load times!

Crisis City in Sonic's story? It has 4 of them! 1 for EACH act; Snowboarding, Platforming, Iblis Tornado and the Speed Up Section! The Trials of Soleanna has at least 16! Sonic 06 also doesn't have autosaving!

Shadow also wins at Sonic 06 by doing nothing!
If only the AVGN learned about the manual saving in his revi.. sorry, I mean, his butthurt rant on a new game using a new, less popular game as a scapegoat to cry and sound off about things like complex stories, cutscenes, FMV CG cutscenes, voice acting and having a 3rd dimension that games have done for decades now such as Mario 64, Tomb Raider 1 and even games as old as Pathways into Darkness and Marathon from 1993 and 1994 respectively.
Basically James did not fact check the game nor did he play it properly; he just did what F.aggotJ64 did by not reviewing the game properly and making himself poorer for it. (Let's all laugh at an "industry" that never learns anything. Tee hee hee)
At least his later videos were better as were the ones before it, but his Sonic 2006 video is his worst one to date. The only thing good about it was the editing but it was all to waste because of his unfair bias based on extremely poor research.
Sorry if this was just to vent on James worst AVGN epsiode but I needed somewhere better to vent my criticism.
Clement went insane over Sonic 06. That game is awful. If you die on Wave Ocean in Sonic's Story, it takes you right back to the Opening cutscene. I tried Sonic Genesis on an Emulator and its a terrible port of Sonic 1.
When a person reviews games for a living, they really should maintain a level of professionalism. Screaming and ranting are not professional.
The "Wave Ocean, start from Opening cutscene" thing can be easily prevented in 4 seconds. While in Soleanna, hit Start, then select "Save". The problem has been corrected.

...Would this be a bad time to mention I've actually S-ranked Sonic's Wave Ocean... twice?
And S-ranked both Sonic and Shadow's Radical Train stages?
And am now working on S-ranking Sonic's Crisis City?
Yes, these reviewers are making the game out to be a far bigger sin of gaming than it actually is, but as someone who's played this game way too much for his own good I am telling you now that you are kidding yourself if you think for a second that these loudmouths are wrong when they say the game is bad... because it is.
Bull. F.ucking. S.hit: that only happens if you forget to SAVE YOUR F.UCKING GAME IN THE PAUSE MENU OF SOLEANNA. Even I figured that out on my first try back in 2012 because that's kindergarten level stuff: saving your game whenever you can. It also lets you save after beating a level or a main boss.
James did not even look and since he got at least to New City, he flat out ignored the save prompt after the results screen. Which is kind of shocking because he's meant to be a video game master from the Atari and Famicom days and yet he didn't follow the most basic rule of video games? Surely he'd remember to save often from Doom at least but nooooo.
So if you neglect or refuse to save even once in your playthrough, you deserve to lose all that progress for being so careless, regardless of what game it is.
