Rhythm sync is all off - making the game unplayable, is there a fix?

I've tried setting the priority to low under task manager processes... it helped marginally, but I'm STILL missing beats aparently??

As a DDR fan I've been looking forward to playing this game for years, and the steam version seemed to give me that chance.
However the game I've purchased is in NO way synced to the beat whatsoever.

It's entirely unplayable and I can't even get past the three robots.
Is there a fix for this, other than what I've already done above?? This is incredibly frustrating and I'd like to hope this hasn't been a waste of my money.

I had the same with resolution set to 1080p @ 60hz. Upped it to 144 (my monitor freq) and it sync'd perfectly.

Exactly the same situation, only on 59Hz. Nothing wrong.

wtf you guys talking about? my game is stuck at 30 fps. how i unlock fps to 60?
most of beats are near perfect synced for me. just listen to the music and feel the beats. you must feel the music and press the buttons in the rhythm.

“buy a better PC” is not helpful advice. this game is from 2001-2003. if it can run on a SEGA DREAMCAST and a PS2, then it should run on a PC from 2017.

sega did not port this game properly. it is a software issue

You need to set windows refresh rate to 60hz, and also in game settings to 60hz.
