I have had this game for about three years now and for the first year the sound worked, but for some reason no sound effects, level themes or sonic and knuckles saying " oh no" will play and it is

So I've recently bought the game and the first thing I noticed was how loud the sound effects were. I'm talking ear rape levels of volume. Sound effects like enemy sounds and rings make the game
uncomfortable for the ears. I'm sure it has something to do with the configuration but nothing really helps. Is there any way to lower these sound effects?

downloaded it for the first time and it ran great, I was super pleased. This morning I run it and simple sound effects are not present. For instance, the main menu sounds do not play (like when moving the
cursor), sonic makes no noise when jumping, spinning, talking and no other AI have voices. The BGM plays but besides that all sound is missing. I just barely downloaded BetterSADX and launched it; the

The game runs decently ONLY if i turn the sound completely off, if its on the game is stuttery and has a lower framerate. My pc is pretty good btw so its not that.

I got a "triggered" sound effect of knuckles's oh no. Just can't find out which one is the file with oh no.

I was able to get 60 fps by disabling sound devices so that there is only one otherwise the game will stutter. I now get 60 fps at 1920 x 1080.

how come im not getting any music during game play? i get it when im in the menues, though its very quiet. and i have my speakers up

Download the replacer patch (a fairly large file ~800 MB if I remember), and use 7-zip or WinRar to extract the file into the SADX directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sonic Adventure DX). It will ask you if it can replace files, so click "Yes to All"

Extract the SADXFE into any folder, and take all of the files from the SADXFE folder, and place them in the Sonic Adventure DX\system folder, again it will ask if it can replace files, say yes.

[OPTIONAL: REQUIRED IF USING X-BOX 360 GAMEPAD]
Extract the SADX360Controller, and rename it to "sonic adventure DX.exe" Replace the .EXE in the SADX directory with this. This will disable first person, but that's because the game misreads the X-Box gamepad's right stick, which would cause it to be stuck in first person otherwise.

Extract the SADXTweaker, and run the program. Click "File > Open", and select your sonic adventure DX.exe. Go to window > Resolution Editor. Replace the resolution with your native screen resolution. (You must replace it with a proper resolution or the game will close on startup).

Go back to your SADX directory, and open "sonicDX.ini" Set the "screensize=#" to 0.

[NOTE] If you fail to install anything and it doesn't seem to start, uninstall SADX from steam (this won't remove it from your account), delete the SADX directory, and then reinstall it from steam.
